You obviously didn’t look at the picture posted…. My avg in town and hwy is 28.5 mpg with my best tank being 31.3 mpg. The mpg display accuracy has been within .5 mpg from what i have tracked.

That's excellent milage. Is that the new Chevy 2.7L Turbomax gas engine or the 3.0L Duramax engine?

I've heard bad things about the Ford 3.5L engine.

I've actually heard good things about the Chevy and Ford 2.7L engines and the Chevy 3.0L Duramax. People are reluctant with the small displacement turbo gas motors though. But from a reliability standpoint, the 2.7L motors are probably a safe bet from both manufacturers as an alternative to the V8 motor.

I very obviously did since I did math based off if it.

All of this makes your claim of 35.7mpg while towing even less believable

So tell me how you did this math based off of the photo, since you don’t know the amount of fuel consumed…..

How so? I don’t NORMALLY get 35 mpg, usually it’s closer to 30. The trip was net downhill and i had a tailwind. That was the best I’ve ever seen, which is why i took a picture of it.

As an owner of a 2022 3.0, this statement is bullshite. In fact, this is Oweo level made up bullshite

The cam phasers were shite on the 5.4L modular engine too.

Not a chance

It’s the 3.0 Duramax with the LZ0, i heard the previous generation with the LM2 had even better mpg claims.

Jury still out on reliability, but i took a shot since the manufacturing drivetrain warranty is 100,000 miles. And emission is something like 70 or 80,000 can’t remember

The math was for your speed, since you claimed highway speeds.

So as the guy said, you were going 50mph downhill, and had a tailwind.

ETA: Your words for reference since you seem to have forgotten your ridiculous claims

BS. Maybe going 50mph down a hill.

quote:

Go find me a 150 mile hill. Sure most of my speed was about 60 mph with a few towns in between and a small stretch of doing 75, and a longer stretch of doing 65.

So you are saying i could find a 150 mile down hill? I said the drive was NET downhill. We are talking like maybe 20 miles of downhill, 5 miles of uphill and rest being flat. I didn’t constantly drive 148 miles down a hill.

I had a gas truck before, and i would get 12 mpg doing the same thing.

No.

So it was downhill, thanks for agreeing.

No one said you did.

I'm sure that claim isn't equally as sensationalized as your previous one.

I had three straight 5.4's (2000,2004,2010) on F150's.

I rolled between 150k and 200k on all 3.

In my experience that 5.4 was bulletproof.

The F150's require Max Trailer tow package and Heavy-Duty payload package which includes the 3.73 axle ratio in order to achieve maximum rated tow/haul specs.

They discontinued that package for 2024. If that's what you want...better get it now

So just to ask again, is this for just the 3.5 or the 5.0 also? I know they are making the 36gal gas tanks standard which is awesome.

The 3.73 Electronic Locking Axle Ration with Tow Haul - Max Tow is only offered for the 5.0L V8 (4x2, 4x4).

This package is available for 2024.

Yeah still rocking my 2010 5.4L with 231k on it. Have never had the first issue. Now, my wife’s 2016 Tahoe, that’s a different story. Total POS!

I'm dealing with that right now. I have 120k on a 2018 and I had to change the starter 2 months ago. It was $300 for a remanufactured from O'Reilleys and now it's starting to do it again. The only plus side is it's pretty easy to change and O'Reilleys has a lifetime warranty but damn I hope I just got a dud and the next one lasts more than 2 months.

Some people have had some luck buying the more expensive Ford Racing starter. I dealt with it this fall at a gas station in MS while traveling. Guy came up to me and told me his son had the exact same issue. Esp when towing. Solution is to not turn it off if you aren't stopping for long. Or you can try the more expensive starter. His son put a heat shield on it and it helped somewhat but not totally. He got so tired of having to sit at gas stations for 20 minutes waiting on it to cool off, he sold it.
