The early Catholic Church compiled the Bible. They wrote the New Testament and borrowed the Old Testament from Judaism.

It’s not very smart to try to use the Bible against the organization that compiled it to begin with.

I look forwarded to reading at least 95 Theses in this thread about why one denomination is superior to the other...

I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic School and everything. Married a protestant and had children. Learned when they were young the average protestant preschooler knew more scripture (memorized) than I did

Maybe the answer is- they know more.

Who worships statues? Do you have any pictures of your loved ones?

That’s a long history that goes back to Martin Luther and William of orange .

Maybe that's the case, but assuming that it is, so what?

It’s a bit more complicated than that as any historic Protestant would claim to have traced his roots to the early church and thus share in that great feat.

Christianity is a deep channel of historic truths and more than one branch or denomination can navigate many aspects of it.

Very little is cut and dry.

Because they abused it for centuries and created, I like your term, an organization that is far from a church. So while some groups of people try to spread the word of Jesus and further the kingdom of heaven Catholics seems to worry what rules they need to follow 40 days out of the year to make sure people know what church they belong to. They look down upon everyone yet fail to get the actual most important part of the Bible.

You think the early Church that compiled the Bible resembles what we have today?

Memorization <> understanding. Understanding > memorizing.

Are you judging some specific Catholics that you know? Or lumping us all in together?

Why do so many Christians spend so much time arguing about which denomination or church is the best instead of spending time spreading the Gospel?

Another way to put it, no thinking Protestant would claim that her denomination or historical roots go back to 1517, 1534, or 1560.

That’s just the point when the One Church no longer allowed their denomination to be connected to the main branch. And those who got cut off disagreed that they should have been cut off.

Protestants typically believe the Bible is the infallible, inspired word of God. Catholics believe in the Bible but equally in Traditions. They believe the Pope is just as infallible. So when a Pope decides that Mary was also not born in original sin, that she ascended to heaven without death, and should be prayed to... that is just as accurate as John 3:16.

Protestants also use the Bible because it clearly states "Saved by Faith through Grace" - Saved is past tense meaning you've been saved not in the process of salvation. This knee caps all of the sacraments and traditions of Catholics so they probably point to the Bible to combat the 2,000 years of added "traditions" that the Catholics add and cling to just as importantly as scripture itself.
