We went to the new one in Central after it opened
I was not impressed although it could be that they were wiped out opening weekend & didn’t have liquor stocked yet
They have random stuff like women’s slippers & underwear on the same aisle as groceries, cheap particle board furniture, crap that imo doesn’t belong in a grocery store
I got some macaroons & salad dressing, did not care for either but I will eventually try the take & bake pizza & some of the tortellini
An example of their products is “Thin Wheats”
I honestly don’t know why that bothers me so much but it does

They have blue bell ice cream at mine.

It’s no frills as a grocery store but where they make their bones is with specialty euro items, meats, cheeses, chocolates etc. The red wine selection is sometimes kind of meh but you can catch some decent ones every now and then. I shop at Publix but my wife no pics shops at Aldi and always gets some specialty items that are good quality. It’s significantly cheaper than Publix too.

I would buy groceries in a back alleyway littered with trash in the hood if it would save me money on my biggest bill besides my house note.

In my limited experience, almost every grocery store is cheaper than Publix.

I buy the knockoff Red Bulls from there, its like 4.99 for a 4 pack of 12oz cans. Taste exactly the same and they have the sugar free versions.

Their liquor license will be granted after all 3 stores in the BR area are opened.
That aisle is supposedly called the Aldi Aisle of Shame. There's a FB private group for it.

Homeless dude walked out of total w a bottle of Elijah Craig went in parking lot and downed it w 3 of his clique almost instantly
Threw bottle bb in parking lot THEN security ran them off.
Aldi is clean no shopping carts all over lot and no fruit flies on veggies like mostt ty stores

I can't imagine any pre-packaged, frozen, and pre-processed lobster mac and cheese is going to be great. That's a dish that you make at home or order at a high-end restaurant, where it is made after you order.

I have one a few miles away from home but they just bought all the Winn Dixies, and there is one of those 1/4 mile from the house.
I dont mind Aldi but the selection is really limited and there are a lot of things they dont carry that most grocery stores have.
I am assuming that they will be adding a lot of new items to fill up the Winn Dixie stores. The Aldis in Tuscaloosa are probably 20,000-25,000 square feet. I think that Winn Dixie is around 60,000.
And I agree that they carry some weird stuff for a grocery store. Things like cheap end tables and chairs that need to be assembled. WTF?

For those who’ve been to Aldi, do you like their products?
Go to Aldi a lot, the new stores are nice, clean and have a good selection. All the better that they are rarely crowded, don't have abandoned buggies littering the aisles, and can't get in and out in a few minutes. The poors clogging Publix have nothing to critique here.

I like Aldi. Especially when you’ve got three teenagers to feed.

No worries about carts denting your car since they require a coin to use the carts.
Stores overseas have been doing this for years now. Can't believe it's taken this long to get here.....

I can’t wait to read the posts on Nextdoor when women start complaining about being charged for the grocery bags.
