They found a tool that was the same shape as the stab wounds on Annie K. So they know for a fact that it was the same murder weapon even though it had no blood on it. I guess we are to assume the cleaning ladies were all so familiar with the autopsy photos that they absolutely knew it was the murder weapon and felt totally comfortable murdering all the scientists. Couldn't have been one or two that killed her- they knew they all participated.

Interestingly they apparently understood the mine was creating huge amounts of pollution to help the scientists but didn't think that was worth making public.

Exactly, no way they could’ve made those determinations based on what was available to them.

One thing I found funny was that Annie K, who I think it's fair to assume wasn't some highly educated scholar, could thumb through a few pages of a notebook and know exactly what they were up to at Tsalal. I'm sure none of the shite she saw or read would make any sense whatsoever to her.
