The average person is still traveling pretty frequently. Space at hotels, restaurants, and on planes are at quite the premium right now. Demand is as high as ever in the tourism market. Not many people feel priced out yet.

I’m in this boat, but for my 25th I decided to splurge a little on my wife and take her to Patagonia. It’ll run me about $20k, but we only do this once every 25 years.

When is the last time you went some place other than Houston baw? Just pick a place and hit the road. See the world, you work too hard to not enjoy a trip out of your comfort zone!

Its one of the few things I never look back on and thing the money I spent was wasted.

Vacation is one of the first things I’ll spend money on, nothing more important than making memories with kids

Used to be. I was more interested in investing so that I could retire in my 50’s.

Achievement unlocked.

Now I don’t have to work another day in my life and can enjoy expensive vacations.

I'm lucky enough to have a jobs that provides me with an ungodly amount of airline miles and hotel points. I 3-4 trips per year and really only pay for food, drinks and entertainment.

Took a ladyfreind to Fairhope last week for a little getaway. Still managed to spend almost $1300 on food and drinks.

Gonna take my teenage boys to Hawaii this summer and probably a solo trip to South Africa in he winter.

Flying 5 out of New Orleans to Las Vegas and renting a car for a week for a Grand Canyon/Sedona/Zion tour for a combined $1500 including rental. It doesn’t have to be expensive, you just have to look for the deals.

I am jealous. It cost me a small fortune to fly from NY to Louisiana.

yo! one of my favorite trips recently was when me and my wife rented a house boat out on Moon lake in Monroe change of scenery and ditching the normal schedule is therapeutic in itself to me.

Part of the reason why I haven't been back in a while. The last time I was looking at flying down, I realized that I could fly my family to Paris for less money, so we did that.

TBH I don't really value traveling as much as most people my age. I visit friends or family or go to some event and make a long weekend out of it 4-5 times per year. Usually do a more real "vacation" every other year. I am going to Europe this summer though.

Same. Flying to Lafayette for Easter and tickets were about $900 each. Sucked it up because Maw Maw ain’t getting any younger. I could go to London for about $500 each.

We have a budget and save what we feel is appropriate for college and retirement. We try to go on several little or a few bigger vacations throughout the year. We are fortunate to have enough cash to splurge on a spur of the moment trip here and there with the kids. We brought them to the LSU-A&M game in 2022, and the CWS last summer on about 24 hours notice. We had a great time. Memories are more important to me than buying things I don't need.

I doubt anyone looks back on their life and says “I wish I had vacationed less”. But I’d bet you there are plenty of older folks who can’t get around as well that wish they had done more stuff when they were younger.

It sounds cliche, but life truly is too short. I want to make lasting memories with my wife and kids before I’m not around to do so any longer.

one of the "real reasons" to live in Louisiana. spending at least a couple hundred dollars on flying to New Orleans for holidays and using PTO sucked.

Sometimes not going anywhere other than the lake is nice.
Not having to get up until I'm ready is great.

We typically only go on two away vacas.
Disney World
Branson. This time I think we will try on of the lodges. They look pretty cool.
Gotta hit Paula Dean and some Italian joint.

Nobody ever said "I took too many vacations". I come back from vacay and start planning my next one. I'll always have money for vacations even if I have to start selling pictures of my feet online.
