Just watched the video of the Orlando Magic retiring his jersey and if you don't love this guy, there is something wrong with you! Always wants to thank those around him for making him who he is today and always makes sure to mention LSU in just about every conversation.

For a guy that has been so successful throughout his life, he is still so authentic and down to earth, which is not something you will find in many ultra-successful individuals in the world we live in today.

I've been blessed to see a lot of talented big men like Kareem and Olajuwon, but no big man compares to Shaq because he could rebound, run the floor, block shots, pass, dribble and finish like no other big man the NBA had ever seen or will ever see. IMO, he's the most talented, well-rounded big man to ever play the game.

The best part is he played at LSU and always makes a point to mention LSU every chance he gets!

I was at LSU at the tail end of Shaq's run. Good post. If you dislike Shaq there is something wrong with you.

I wish one of his kids finished at lsu. I know two made it to basketball rosters and both left. He’s our best alumni ambassador by a mile

It’s was always a fun time watching him shoot free throws, just never got comfortable with it.
Other than that, best big man ever.

Shaq is maybe the most dominant athlete of all time. Not too many guys could stop him, if any.

In this day and time, he’s remained, for lack of a better word, very wholesome. Stayed away from anything controversial or political, endorses products that “fit”. The best ambassador a school could ever hope for.

Saw Shaq and a couple other LSU players (don't remember who) in Cortana Mall and it was amazing just how big he was, and that was when he was "small" compared to now.

Never seen a player they refs literally would keep there whistles in their pockets for. He was constantly getting hacked and unless someone was tackling him at times he didn’t get those arm slaps all the time.

They literally had to change the rules of the game when he was playing. Most dominant big man I’ve ever seen.

I’ve seen Wilt, Kareem, Bill Russell and all the others since. This kid Wembanyama might pass them all up.

Wilt was the best I’ve ever seen. Olajuwon might be the best overall footwork of any center to ever play the game. I consider him a 4 though. He dominated Shaq in that finals.

Shaq wasn’t better than Olajuwon in footwork, rebounding, blocked shots and shooting.

Love the guy. Shaq was the reason I stopped watching basketball. In college the refs would call a foul on him for anything. There could be no one within 5 feet of him and they'd still call a foul. That's when I realized basketball was t-totally scripted however the paid off referee wanted it to be. Probably haven't watched a full game since.

one thing I noticed over the years about Shaq is that he often dunks with a fair bit of force

Love Shaq, went to LSU with him. Yes, he could do all those things, he just couldn’t shoot the ball.

Being a great basketball player is way behind the main reason I love Shaq. He is one hell of a good man.

This country would be so much better if we all carried ourselves like he does.
