I don’t give a frick about Niger, but it’s obvious they are beholden to superpowers like most of the third world.

That pretty much sums up everything that has been wrong with US foreign policy for the past 60 years or so.

Just another example of how this administration has weakened the United States power around the world
ETA to add this administration keeps saying to other countries that if they cross the line in the sand that is established there will be consequences. Yet nothing ever happens when they do. I wouldn’t be scared of this weak arse administration either

I guess its too tough to negotiate and offer fair prices for resources. We just threaten and destabilize. I guess when you manufacture nothing but weapons now, its your only tool in the bag.

I wish every country we have a base in would kick us out

ETA:

quote:

Nigerien

This is the first time I have ever realized how poor and confusing of a term this is given that Nigeria residents are Nigerians

Also here’s an interesting note from the web

quote:

The term Nigerois occasionally appears (in Merriam-Webster, older editions of the CIA World Factbook, and The New York Times style guide), but since that is not used by the people of Niger themselves, Nigerien is preferred. Nigerien is distinguished from Nigerian, which denotes a person from Nigeria.

Nigerois

Well it’s actually par for the course with this administration. Worst in US history and it’s not close.
Terrible negotiators and that is a bad combo when you add the fact that they aren’t respected either.
At least Trump has people on their toes and listening to potential sanctions.
Countries now are like fuk it, what are you gonna do?

I believe it has more to do with our apparent inability to understand that other countries want to control their own domestic affairs.

I was irked when we tried bullying India into cutting off contact with Russia. India has over a billion people, a lot of which are in poverty...and we demanded the Indian government make matters even worse for their population by shunning Russia, just because we wanted them to.
