So Trae is not a traditional point guard but averages 10 assists a game??

Yes.

In what way is "holding onto the ball and not initiating any sort of set offense and only passing when he can get an easy assist" playing "traditional" pg?

Maybe in the crazy 1960s?

According him hes not being maximized with Mitchell- meaning he wants the ball more.

I mean, he did take a step back this year. Ingram was allowed more FGA and I imagine if we got a real lead guard, they'd be given more possible changes for FGA.

Different universe from haliocentric Trae.

He literally runs pick and rolls all the time with Capella and gets other players easy 3s. Isn’t a point guard suppose to get easy assists?

Look being critical of Trae is understandable he has certain flaws but acting like hes not a true point guard is not one of the flaws.

Can he successfully do this in crunch time? Despite BI's offense breaking tendencies, we wouldn't be looking to trade him if he could handle defensive pressure better.

I still have Murray at the top of my list, but Trae seems like he's the only one on the short list that can raise the ceiling. Is it like Dallas trading for Kyrie, kind of, but that worked out better than people expected.
