Do yall experience this often from various people? I often hear it from my in-laws. Just total unrealistic expectations of wanting to live in places with mountains that don’t get hot.

At the same time they’re so cheap when it comes to buying anything big. Just get tired of the same old song and dance. If you don’t like where you live then either do something about it or shut up.

Mind you, they are a large landowning multigenerational family in their parish with countless friends and a big network not only in their community but statewide. It’s not like leaving and starting fresh would be easy to say adios to that.

We said it for a few years while researching. When we moved everyone acted shocked like we never said anything.

Many people want to move. Most people make excuses as to why it’s just not an option for them.

It is actually okay to let others dream.

Some folks have a 5,10, or whatever year plan to get where they’re going rather than overnight. No need to get all flustered about it baw.

I went to Seattle last year for work. It was radically different than I expected. It was not the dystopian nightmare the media makes you think. Then, I took a ferry to the area of Puget Sound near Gig Harbor. I loved it...gorgeous mountains and it doesn't get hot. Best place I've ever been. I bought a house in November and moved in December.

Last time we moved, I didn't know anything about it until my wife told me she found a new house she wanted.

So I went and viewed it with her and the kids; turns out she had already toured it twice before.

My cousin Larry always talked about moving to New Zealand. Eventually he did and ended up getting sexually assaulted by a penguin. There’s a lesson to be learned there.

I've had plans to move in 5 years for about 15 years now.

I've been talking about and dreaming of moving rural for a decade now and am anxiously awaiting the day my wife finally retires from her job to do it.

I've been retired for a few years now and am so tired of living in Orleans Parish and the shithole it has become. Infrastructure falling apart, administration after administration just passing the buck on things that need immediate attention, red light camera cash grabs, potholes that appear overnight and the proliferation of beggars and homeless camps all over the city.

My house will go on the market not long after the wife retires----buy something nice in the country with some land and no neighbors so close I can hear them farting in their backyard.

People that want to move are poor in spirit and poor in general

They blame the place they are for their failures in life

You can see it on this board with the people that have to move to texas just to find a job
