A Tale of Two Cicadas
Cicada 1.....or 1/2?
This dude was still alive, still moving, still had a brain telling it to call and try to mate, but it no longer had the organ to make the cicada noise. It knew what it was supposed to do, but just couldn't do it.
This baw, cicada number 2, was able to complete the task, though.

One time I was on the phone in my driveway when a cicada flew by my head and scared the shite out me.
Immediately, a cicada killer hit that dude in the back and latched on. Not a second later a bird flies by and grabs both of them out of the air.
I have no idea what kind of bird. Like a regular bird.
It was amazing.

They will piss on you. Was on my deck last weekend and felt drops of rain but it was clear sky. Then realized it was the cicadas in the trees above. Looked it up and they will spray as a defense mechanism.

I pick the moulted shells up and put them on my neighbor's windshield. Creeps him out.
