Um, CenterPoint your map shows the number of meters that don't have power. NOT the number of people.
Given 2.5 people per household, well over a million people are miserable and going to be more so.
A lot of them are going to need help.

I mean the standard way to report outages is by customers, not “people.”
They are reporting it the way any other power company would report it. The actual outage map most likely says “customers,” and whoever wrote that quote probably didn’t see the distinction.

Still without power after 52 hours. They are making progress but the damage is significant.
