I don’t see any pit. We have a mutt our son found at the bus stop 14 years ago. She has been the best dog in temperament and health. Never been sick.

But look at the love she put in your life, and the bond she gave you and your wife.

Dogs teach us about love, and how short life really is.

She's doing good. Our old scarred up Tom cat attacked her and she just laid down and looked the other way. The cat was suppose to go to a farm but earned his place here killing a copperhead and nearly dying in the process.

Thank everyone for the nice replies. A bit suprised there are no paint your deck or why is you house red comments. Guess stray pups calm the OT

Puppies/dogs are the OTs kryptonite.

That dog would fit in perfectly at a shelter with all the other pit mixed dogs. Why take a chance when you have kids and there are plenty of other dogs to adopt.

Very rural county with no animal shelter. We have to handle all the strays ourselves. First sign of aggression and she will be going to be a barn guard dog or something. Thus far she has been great. Already sits instantly on command

You have a 7 year old child? And you’re keeping a dog that’s probably 50% pit bull?

Good luck.

You really think it's half pit? To me it doesn't have the huge destroyer of worlds block head.

I've been around a lot of strays. Had a few that just seemed like derpy hounds that could snap for basically no reason. They all had tells that let me know they were sketchy. This one is the most intelligent and attentive I've come across since by springer spaniel. That's what got me thinking about keeping her.

Yes-it appears to. It looks about 50% pit. A pit attacked my sons a few weeks ago and bit one of them. We were fortunate. You’re playing with fire.

They’re all “smart” and “intelligent” and “sweet” until they’re not.

Are all of the people telling you to keep it going to pay the medical bills, or God forbid funeral bills, when that dog snaps? Do they have skin in the game?

She’s pretty. Thank you for being a good person. Looks like she’s hit the bullseye with a good home.

Please. Most mixed dogs have some pit or staffy in them if you run a DNA. No different from labs being in everything. Almost all of mine have it and none have tried to kill me or anyone else. Only lizards.

An abandoned or a abused dog, once settled, can be the best good boy that you will every have. They seem to know, somehow, that you are their savior.

You'd keep a dog around that shows signs of human aggression that's literally one of the only time giving them the old yeller treatment is remotely acceptable.

My brother had a pure Pit female that was the sweetest dog ever until she died. She was huge too.
I know that they had her fixed when she was still a puppy, and she always acted like a big puppy.

She appears to be 45% dog and 55% sausage.

Keep her. She might save your life someday, or abandon you when you need her most. One or the other.

That is a pound dog. Go to the shelter and rescue a family dog like a German shepherd. They’ll love the kid instead of eating her face
