IF youve watched all those music biopics it is a perfect parody.

The drugs scenes are the best, and one of the reasons I love them is how frickign silly the Ray Charles heroine scene is

I've tried to watch it a couple time but just can't get more than about 1/2 hour and turn the channel.

Now, John C. Reilly did an excellent job in his role when making "Stan & Ollie", the movie about Laurel & Hardy in the later stages of their career. Both actors had the mannerisms of their characters down pat.

One of the greatest parodies of all time. Criminal how low it grossed in the box office. Took my parents with me to see it and we all just about had a hernia from laughing so much.

It's great but I wish they had parodied more music biopics. It's just so heavily Cash.

They could've been more like Not Another Teen Movie and tackled the entire genre but instead focused on one movie.

Cash was the best material given John C Reilly, but they went after all of those musical biopics. I can’t think of a musical parody at the time they didn’t parody (save for maybe Spinal Tap, which that also is a parody). I wouldn’t change any of it. It’s a perfect movie IMO.

Pretty good but really dropped off a cliff on that third act.

How? I really think it’s a very consistent film. When he accidentally kills his father with a machete and regains his sense of smell.

Midget Man Protest Song

Bob Dylan

The interaction between Parnell and Meadows cracks me up in that last clip.
