The Power Team - preaching and displays of strength

Did any of you see the Power Team live? I was cleaning out my attic today and found an old ticket for a Power Team show from 1988
My friend's mother who was a little crazy and super religious took a bunch of us. I remember the show being really intense. My buddies mom kept screaming and crying as they bent steel, ripped apart phone books and broke through ice blocks. Cool displays of strength and a great message but a little strange. I don't think they let anyone leave the arena until we all repented.

I remember seeing them live as a little kid and thought it was the coolest shite ever

Two of them came to our church when I was little. It was probably in the early 90s. I remember the phonebook tearing.

The came to Central High School around 1991 or so. I remember watching one of the dudes rip a phone book in half.
The were sooooo dramatic, like ‘pro’ wrestlers but all in the name of Jesus.

Yep, they came to my elementary school. Thought it was awesome

Yeah. It seems like they may have been in our town for a bigger show and had sent out guys or had guys invited to different churches around while they were in town. Our church was small then and wouldn't have pulled the whole show.

They came to Northshore High school seemingly every year I was there.
It always sounded cooler than it actually was.

Me and my brother got obliterated one night in Ybor City with the Power Team in the early 90's. Those dudes were lunatics.

I saw these guys on TV when I was like 7. The message was something like, “the world is going to end. Maybe even as soon as tomorrow or the next day. Do you want to get caught watching a dirty movie, or stealing something?. Repent now!” Then he broke a bat over his knee...
Messed me up bad. I ran to my mom to ask her if the world was going to end tomorrow.

Didn't these guys start the Gay Wrestling Association?

I remember them coming to the UNO Lakefront arena. Their show was nicknamed "Breaking shite for Jesus."

Saw them in Baker at Bethany. It was actually pretty fun.
Workaholics has a great episode based on them too.

good group with a good message for kids while being entertaining.
Oweo and mmmmcum would tell you they are terrible xenophobic racists preaching dangerous false narratives and that school children would be better served being taught sex by Drag Queens or transgenders right before receiving their white supremacy lashings.
