Is there some law in Carolina that says 17 year olds are the only juveniles that are eligible to be charged as adults? I don't understand why the 16 year old wasn't charged as an adult here. With these facts, the only scenarios I can think of off the top of my head where you would charge them differently that close in age would involve some scenario where you wouldn't charge the younger one at all (e.g., if the 17 year old forced the 16 year old to assault the victim).

Feelings have been hurt

Animals kill for food or in fighting over food or territory (which is also about food and/or mating). What animals do is instinctual survival.

This is just pure evil. They need to be exterminated

Only the "moderate" ones. The rest of them don't want them in jail at all.
