Broncos fan. I'm not happy about it honestly. Maybe he was the best we could possibly do? who knows.

The 104.3 people are now saying Sean never liked JJ and Nix was always the choice.
I remember them saying like three weeks ago they weren’t gonna get JJ and saying they shouldn’t force it Iif it doesn’t fit with Nix. While I inherently want the broncos to be competitive, I have no love lost for Sean Payton when they do/have done bad.

I would take Sam Hartman over JJ without thinking or Spencer Rattler. Nix was a good choice for him.

When was he in a position that he needed to draft a QB?
He drafted two QBs. One I guess was just a throw away pick but another was the 75th pick on a guy that never played when you could have gotten another weapon for your hof qb.

You think JJ is a better prospect than Nix?
Uh yeah?
Who doesn't?

Honestly, no one on this board or anywhere else knows for certain if a QB is going to be a star or not. It's all a crap shoot. Anyone speaking with certainty is full of shite.

the offense was still functional with Teddy and Winston towards the end, but obviously Brees really took his offense into gear.
that being said, very few teams are great with bad or even mediocre QBs.
Thats why I have a ton of respect for a guy like Shannahan. He’s had some shite QBs and always delivered a serviceable offense.

Was because of Drew Brees
Stupid. Was Brees known as a HOF player when he signed with the saints?

No one ever talks about how he went 7-9 three consecutive seasons.
A great coach doesn’t do that.

Andy Reid has had Mahomes, Kelce, and Tyreek Hill. Are you kidding me...

Are you serious? He selected Marcus Davenport in 2017 and that was one of the most vastly underrated picks in the history of the Saints organization.
Huh

I was on the fence with that one. The underrated part threw me off lol

There’s one of those truly “generational” prospects about once every 10-15 years. Luck, Peyton Manning Elway maybe Aikman. The rest it depends on coaching, the organization and how the player himself develops, how hard he works, studies and learns.
You put a talent like Mahomes with a great coach and organization you get dynasties. Stafford in Detroit you can get some nice stats and occasional playoffs but no high level wins.
The fans posters however don’t know shite. There were meltdowns on the Saints board over the prospect of taking Mahomes. A year ago most of this board was certain CJ Stroud would suck because other QB from Ohio St busted. The board knows jack shite

Didn't he develop Tony Romo?
He gets the credit for it because he was the assistant HC & QB coach in Dallas from 2003-2004; then the assistant HC in 2005 before going to the Saints in 2006. Romo came to Dallas an UDFA in 2004 but did not play until 2006.
Had to look it up, but David Lee was the QB coach in Dallas for 2005 & 2006
