Yep. It seems like he, Frank and the remaining holdovers have done a great job putting this class back together. If they can close like this, get a few more in Feb, and hit the portal hard, then we will still be able to compete in Kelly’s first season.

Just those three take us from 24th to 14th on 247. Rankings aren't the standard but it shows the class is talented just short on numbers

This is completely just me putting together pieces of what I’ve read, but since neither are signing this week they aren’t priority in terms of guys that are signing early, if that makes sense.
Though they’re both definitely priorities for the class overall, it seems like Matthews was one of the first guys Kelly talked to when he started making phone calls. From what I’ve read LSU seems to be trending in the right direction for both. I’ve even seen several people definitively say Matthews is a Tiger.

Some people might look at it superficially like that and be upset. But if we don't finish in the top 10, it'll be simply due to taking a smaller class size and not because of a lack of quality for the players in the class. Our class average should be solidly in the top 10.
