was hitting 94 in SEC games

Is this accurate. My recollection is that he sat around 89 for his fastball.

What this boils down to is your dumb arse said he maxed out in high school at 92, provided a link to a single perfect game event, was quickly proven wrong, and you haven’t recovered yet. I should have ended this there but yet here we are. Like I said bud. Believe what you want.

You claiming he maxed out at 92 in high school bc of one performance at a single event destroys any credibility you have.

Here is another one that shows him at 93. LINK

He hit 95 at Barbe and it doesn’t matter if you want to accept that or not. Someone else posted video of him hitting 94 at South Carolina. Go search it up. I didn’t say he needs to get back to sitting 95. He needs to get back to that range bc it’s safe to assume he won’t be bottoming out at 88 if he is hitting mid 90s again. He isn’t an 88-91 guy and if he is he will have a hard time making it.

for the record he did hit 95 in high school and i know that for a fact because i was there.

for those questioning accuracy....it was on trackman and on perfect radar. trust me its accurate.

no he wasn't. He maxed out at 93

He did clock 94 vs USCe in G2 and was regularly at 93. His drop in velocity is not insignificant IMO.

Side note to the idiot that thinks he knows about Guidry’s interests: His super high metabolism (burns up to 10,000 calories on workout days) is his issue. When his body is ready he will grow quickly. If it’s soon we may lose him.

he does not burn 10k calories on workout days. not in the off season, not even close. and i dont give a frick even if he does, he has to eat more than he burns.

here is the thing about the game...it doesnt give a frick about your excuses. doesnt care about your metabolism, what type of family you come from, how wealthy you were, the color of your skin or any of that bullshite

the deamnds of the game, demand that he add 20lbs of mostly muscle and tons of strength. he can either do it or he will find himself out the game quickly.

his body is primed to grow right now. if you knew anything about strength and conditioning you would know this. They arent out there asking him to run a marathon of poles. they are asking him to get strong AF on the basic lifts, sprint2x per week at short distances, jump, throw med balls and build up his body in the areas he has issues in.

but most importantly they are asking him to eat 1k calories before 9 am. 4 meals of atleast 750 cals each by 4 and 6 meals plus shakes by bed. they are asking him to weigh every day and if he isnt gaining, eat more or add easy calories to his meals.

i dunno if you are related to him or not, nor do i care. he either gains weight and strength to add velo or the game is going to eat him up and spit him out.

Fastest runner on the team…..

He went 1/20 with 13 Ks in all of our spring scrimmages this year. He hit .156 with a 42k% in the fall of 2023. He went 1/7 with 4 Ks in the 2023 season.

I'd say all of that is a lot more recently than "he hadn't seen live pitching in over 2 years"

What do you think is more likely 1) that Guidry was throwing 95 in high school and couldn't do it once he got to college for no apparent reason; or 2) that he has always been a pitcher with a low 90s fastball, which is why he throws that hard in college. There's nothing wrong with a low 90s fastball fwiw. Aaron Nola makes a lot of money throwing low 90s fastballs.

he hasnt done it since junior year or maybe early senior year before the back injury.

You are the one that keeps saying “he isn’t interested” not knowing anything going on. If you did you would know what the trainers have told him

no i said at this time he doesnt seem to be interested in putting in the work in the kitchen it takes to grow

thats a fricking fact or he wouldnt be 170 somthing lbs still. i think he is like 178 or something.

i love him as person, loved what he did at barbe, but bottomline is he has to gain weight

and frankly i dont care what the trainers have said....he doesnt burn 10k calories adn he still has to gain weight.

bottomline is he is 6'2"=74"

the minimum and i mean absolute minimum he should be is 185 lbs. but minimal optimal training weight is 200-205 and 100% optimal would be 3x height aka 220ish.

it is what it is.

Over here we call that the Northshore 95.

Probably the same in Calcasieu.

Look man. I don’t want to sit here and waste anymore time on this although I’m laid up on the couch after my latest gout attack so I got plenty. I’m not trying to have gotcha moments on here, but I’ll chirp back if someone is calling me out.

Looks like we live like 10mins apart. We can go grab a beer, or white claw, whatever it is you drink, and laugh it off and catch some games together!

I honestly don’t care enough about Barbe to waste my time arguing to hype up some player that is already on the team. I really don’t understand what that would do. I guess that could make someone more impressed with Barbe, but do we really need to do that? But anywho, this is exactly what happened.

Someone posted about him hitting 94 then someone else said he hit 95 in high school. I found that very hard to believe based on what I have seen. So I asked a guy that played at Bama and another that played at Ole Miss. They both confirmed it happened in games and wasn’t some juiced up gun in practice that no one else saw. They also have zero reason to lie or exaggerate, especially about a high school they attended 20 years ago, especially for message board material for a team they despise. I also asked a couple parents of kids that played on the teams but I guess for some weird reason they could have a reason to exaggerate.

Time to move on!

Check Guidry's velocity at about 2H24M mark.

Hits 94 once and regularly at 93.

What is he then? He ain’t 200.

But I am glad he has gained weight. Honestly he has the stuff to be a mob starter, but he has to get velo to 95+ sitting to do so.

His curve will keep him in the minors a long time to always have a shot if he can put on weight and add lots of strength
