Crowd control was nonexistent for Chris Stapleton on Saturday.

I don’t have a lot of confidence in crowd control for the Stones. Some of my friends don’t want to go. They say the situation was legitimately dangerous — people almost getting crushed — when Elton John played a few years ago.

Any thoughts? Strategies?

They limited the number of tickets sold in order to prevent overcrowding. That being said, it will still be a shite show because that's JazzFest.

What's the average age of a Stones fan these days? Has to be around 75 or so. I'm sure that crowd can get pretty wild.

In the past few years, they had dedicated walkways at Acura through the crowd. All of that was gone on Saturday.

They also had pinch points at the track "bridge" that weren't there before.

I'm marginally nervous about Thursday.

Damn I predict you won’t be happy with that experience. Unless you’ve got Grand Marshall I’m thinking it’s going to be huge cluster Fuk. No chairs, no blankets, close all other stages at 345 and watch the herds move in. Quint wants everyone standing 20” apart on every square inch at Fest Stage. I’m thinking soccer crowd massacre. Hope I’m wrong. I enjoyed all 4 days this past weekend and going 3 days this coming but you couldn’t make me go Thursday. Good luck If I had to go I’d get on side on Krewe of Jazzfest bleachers on the rail ay 11 and hold on . I predict gates will open 1030.

It will be ridiculous starting at 10:40am. No chance of it being organized at all

I won’t do Saturdays with good weather or Stones Day in any conditions. Just not worth it for me. I imagine there will be plenty disappointed people Thursday. I couldn’t imagine going and watching from Congo or Gentilly.

You mean like a telecast on the big screens? If you don’t run to the Acura stage when you arrive you won’t get anywhere close

Yes, they are planning on using the screens and speakers to show from the other large stage areas, which won’t have any music at the time. Would be better off outside the gate trying to get a peek.

that doesnt sound too bad to me...actually a great idea. at the normal headliners at the big stages unless you camp out all day you cant see the stage anyway. no difference watching it on a screen

Hey, I hope you have a great time. I freaking LOVE Jazzfest but I was out there Saturday and walked over to see Gal Holiday on the Acura stage early. There was nobody up front at all and I was looking back thinking there’s not going to be room to breathe here next Thursday. No chairs, no blankets…..oooof. I’m afraid y’all won’t know where the food line stops and where the crowd is so backed up they can’t see the stage. Best of luck

I agree. You’d have to be an idiot to go anywhere near that place.
