He’s a slime ball. Everyone knows it. They are running it back with 85% of the team and the same shitty HC.

The strange thing is, I don't think people are pissed, they're a bit numb.

Correct, most people don't give a shite, and the season ticket sales reflect that, and Lady Benson DEFINITELY sees that.

They are catastrophically bad.

I mean he says the same words but they clearly seem to mean 2 different things. Last year it was all about continuoty and we're going to be better (meaning the players on the roster).

This year, he seems pretty committed to flipping the roster around.
quote:

David Griffin: Whereas in the past we have erred on the side of continuity and our take away has been, let's see this group healthy. I think we have seen it enough... There are teams that didn't make the playoffs that will be radically better next season, we need to do the same.

After he said that last year all he did was draft Hawkins, sign zeller and give herb a contract. That’s like the bare minimum of an offseason.

Let’s see what he does this time. I don’t have high hopes. He’s gonna find out he held onto his golden boy Ingram far too long and now his value is in the dumps

They revamped the medical staff. I don’t think thats a big deal but I think Griff did. I also think they went hard after Scoot but lucky for us he failed to complete that deal.

Our offseason really was so bad lol. They really believed in JV/Nance to only go out and sign Zeller. I know a lot of yall don’t like Jaxson Hayes and he barely played in the playoffs for LAL, but cmon. Why did we let him walk for the minimum to replace him with someone who also never played. It was a terrible offseason of acquisitions but at least that is blatantly obvious so maybe they’ll actually address it this time around

Did people miss the point here?

He said last year that people should be pissed if he's there the following year saying "We have to get better"

And here he is saying "We have to get better" 1 year later

There's definitely a point to that, for sure.

But I took last season's comments basically telling us we're not making big changes, let's see how it goes...we just need guys to play together and get better. I took him to be saying if he's saying THAT again this offseason...not good.

So basically, my interpretation was last offseason he told everyone we're going to give the core 1 more year, and if that didn't work, you can blame him if he were telling us the same thing this offseason. And this offseason/yesterday, obviously they can't be direct, but it seems super obvious that he was saying big changes are coming, and also the noncommittal response on the BI extension. All of that together, tells me he's looking big this offseason.

Now obviously, words from Griff don't mean much, or really words from anyone. Actions are what matter. Will he do it? I don't know. But I don't really understand how some, not many, but some heard the comments yesterday and immediately thought Griff was telling us he's running it back. It was quite the opposite IMO.

He said right after that "We are not good enough right now"

And then did nothing

And then came back the following year saying what we should be pissed about him saying

Griff strikes me as a self-preservist. HE IS DEFINITELY making moves this off-season to keep his job.
I wasnt ok with the stand pat direction, but also realized THIS version of the team hadnt played together. Now, it has, and we can clearly see it is NOT championship worthy.

So, Griff will make moves, to what extent? Who knows.... We can be comfortable in knowing BI is NOT getting a max contract. If he contends that he should get 1, He WILL be traded. I think the BI experiment has come to an end personally and Im ok with that fact if it materializes.

I’ll believe it when I see it. His quote about CJ/Zion/Ingram being a negative on the court really seemed like a shot at the surrounding cast.

He specifically mentioned how good the core and foundation was. I think there’s a very good possibility he just signs or trades for a new center with the MLE and calls it a day.
