Doesn't mean he's leaving. But if he does...

How bad will the Lakers potentially be next year?

Will they be able to sign someone with his cap space? If so, who could they get?

Are we going to see a Mitchell for Lebron trade?

He's putting pressure on the Lakers to take the biggest swing they can.

He will be back with them.

I would LOVE for him to go elsewhere, but I doubt he does.

Lebron signs a team friendly deal with Cleveland. Cleveland picks up Bronny and puts him on GLeague team. He gets called up in a meaningless game to play with his dad. LeBron plays his final season there and retires in Cleveland. Full circle.

Opting out is only a 3 million pay cut for him over 3 years. Worth doing it to put pressure on the FO

That being said I’d love to see him with the Knicks

I have seen nobody say anything about Lebron opting out

Also, they would get no cap space, they would still be above the cap and wouldn’t be able to sign anyone

Any trade the Lakers could make they'd have to move Reaves and Rui IMO. Those are their only guys with value.

Would losing Rui and Reaves for Trae Young make them better? Not at all IMO.

Mitchell maybe but who wants to play with ball dominant Lebron?

Didn't he do the same shite when he wanted Vogel gone and wanted a flipped roster?

Yeah, this news is all from Windhorst and nothing he talked about focused on leaving the Lakers. Basically this is to put pressure on the Lakers to make a trade, encourage them to draft his son, and change his contract, like getting a no trade clause or extra years.

Which is precisely why he's going to opt out, he has them by the balls. They pretty much have to pay him, and he can pretend that he's going to leave in order to put pressure on them to waste their 3 available picks. They are pretty much screwed, unless they call his bluff.

Lakers fired Ham, so LeBron is probably getting to hand pick a new coach to blame for why they can’t win a series if Bronnie’s life depended on it.

LeBron probably pushes for Lue.

Bud is the best one on that list but I wouldn’t see him taking the scapegoat position with the Lakers without a huge contract with multiple years guaranteed.

If you take Spo out of the list, the average job length of his head coaches looks like the average length of a Latin American dictator.

Yeah this job wouldn't be for everyone. Not just the insane expectations, but you know deep down you aren't the leader in the locker room, LeBron is.

If they strike out on more established candidates, I could definitely see JJ Redick being the choice.

And then he'll blame Pelinka for not having enough talent around him.

Isn't he limited in how many years he can sign, since he is over 38? I thought it was capped to 2 years..

I don’t know about years signed but what I’m seeing is that a team takes a massive cap hit on the front end because the assumption is that he retires and that any money left is considered deferred comp from the year he played, not future years in retirement.
