How many of you go to your high school reunions? My 40th reunion is this weekend. I live out of state and haven't kept up with anyone other than via Facebook posts. I'm sad I won't be able to attend because it's mother's day weekend.

Lots of folks think they are irrelevant, but I guess it depends on your situation. If you barely ever see any of your classmates and were decent friends with most, it's great to reconnect face to face.

This next school year is the Centennial for my high school. There will be a huge awesome reunion for all classes. A lot of my friends are very involved in making it happen.

If I want to connect with someone, I’ll reach out to them. Don’t need a reunion

I went to my 20 year one and it was okay. I chose not to go to my 25 year one, and then after it passed I wished I had gone. Will definitely hit the next one.

My 10 year reunion was fun. My 20 year reunion sucked arse. All the black folks got mad because it was held at a country club that used to be whites only (this was during tearing down statue season). They cut the music and wanted everyone to have a conversation about how hurtful it was. Several people circled up and listened to their concerns. I stayed at the bar and drank. Some folks got mad, and I was like, "I didn't plan this thing, and I'm only here to see a few people, so IDK why I need to participate."

I'll never go to another one. We only had 90 people in my class and I only really like about 5 of those.

My 30th will be in a couple of years. I've never gone to any though. My situation is a little different as I only went to school there JR and SR year.

My closest friends are all guys from my high school class. We have reunions every 5 years, and I always make a point to attend. I see most guys I really care about outside of these events, but they're still good networking opportunities. You never know when a fellow alum might end up in a position to help you out with something.

I would only go if I were single. I’ve heard those things are hook up fests for the divorcees and widowers

I went to my 10th and 20th. We didn’t have a 30th. I probably wouldn’t have gone to it if we did. I’m to the point where I’m still friends with the ones that matter most and couldn’t really care less to see most of the other ones I don’t keep up with on social media.

We have lazy leadership in mine. No reunions ending in 5. They do the bare minimum to notify people then wonder why no one comes.

I went to my 10th and was happy to see a lot of people, plus it was shortly after Katrina. Went to my 20th to reconnect with some old friends I lost touch with and wanted to specifically network with a few people.

The 20th turned into a shite show of people trying to relive their glory days and you can tell a large majority of them peaked in HS or shortly after. I have no plans to attend another

I went to the 5 and 10 year reunion since I was still in contact with several of the guys I went to school with.

After that, I've not attended a single one and 2020 signaled my 50th and it was cancelled several times due to Covid. I lost track if it ever did come about---------not that I would have gone anyway.

It’s something fun to do.

I don’t get why people get so worried about what people may think about them and are scared to go.

Just go and have fun.

The irrelevant part is being insecure

What in the actual frick? Yall don't have reunions on Homecoming week? Hence the term HOME COMING, you known, Coming Home. Parade, food, football game, after party, etc

I'm baffled someone planned this thing as horribly as I've ever heard. Did they rent out a hotel in Haiti?
