There was a panic, exacerbated by a click bait media. Local politicians could not be seen to do nothing. They had to do something. State level had to do something. Otherwise, every death -- as little as they were -- would be laid at their feet. So they did stupid shite. They over corrected. Most people went along because it was easier than taking some principled stand. Oh god, I have to walk down one way on a grocery aisle...call me oppressed. It was easy to just go along with whatever retarded shite they came up with.
I'm no fan of the lockdowns. I really never followed them, and I'm not vaxxed.
But you conspiracy figs need to give it a rest. Sometimes, shite just happens because incompetent people are in power.
