Not sure this is about lackluster inspections.

I’m not necessarily defending this move, but the state has an issue of having enough willing insurers. Removing arbitrary mandates should theoretically improve that situation.

I still think I’m offering higher hurricane deductibles or roof exclusions would be a better place to start. IMO this entire problem started because insurers were underpricing their insurance.

Surely cucking themselves to Insurers means Louisianans will have access to more insurance at more reasonable premiums

companies will be cancelling the frick out of books of business. nothing about this helps or will draw competing carriers.

Both of those comments are assumptions.

True.

My assumption is that the insurance companies will gladly set up shop, take your money, and then bail if something happens.

Are there concrete examples of this in practice?

Whatever happened to the movie industry in Louisiana? I'll hang up and listen.

Is that we call consumer protections here?

You asked for an example. I gave you one.

No you didn’t. You asked a question. You didn’t provide an example of another state with less regulations enjoying more competition.

Every website that publishes data shows Oklahoma's homeowner insurance premiums to be higher than Louisiana's premiums. Makes some sense because we get tornadoes, high winds and a ton of hail.

But we don't have cancelations. Why? Because we don't have fricked up tort regulations that hamstring providers. We also don't see storms as a way to get a roof replaced or to get another generator.

This helps the majority of people. I’m sure you’re one of the ones bitching about high insurance premiums and now bitching about removing legislation that leads to increased premiums

So if State Farm dropped me in 2017 because of claim history are you saying they should not have, based on state laws?

they bit off more than they want to chew. reduce volume of risk in the state. they want more auto, less home. they are essentially the new roof supplier of all dsld homes 12 yrs or less when it comes to storms.

actually not a bad bill chub

No guarantees from insurance providers.
Easier to drop the consumer from the policy, raise rates and have more time before paying out claims.

So kindly remove their phallus that you're munching on from your orifice and explain to us exactly how it's NOT a bad bill, chub?

Maybe all of the uninsured homeowners can form their own pool. It would be glorious. Doctors do it with malpractice insurance.

Is the idea that this keeps the companies from just bailing on the state completely?

Yes.

Only Democrats and a few RINOs voted against it. So, must have been a good bill.

surprised if you have an influx of companies start writing policies after hurricane season ends and starts cancelling them right before it begins the following year.
