Local cops won’t be dissed by millionaire golfer . Arrest golfer, and then act authoritarian.

PGA will simply remove Louisville from future tournament schedules.

Brilliant move, cops.

Scottie Scheffler detained by police Friday at PGA Championship in shocking incident…

In a shocking incident early Friday morning, Scottie Scheffler was detained by police at Valhalla ahead of the second round of the 2024 PGA Championship, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, and later charged with several criminal offenses.

Darlington, who witnessed the incident, first related details in a tweet and later live on ESPN.

According to Darlington, as Scheffler was driving into the Valhalla parking lot around 6 a.m. ET Friday morning, a police officer attempted to stop Scheffler’s car, but Scheffler continued to drive a short distance. The situation then escalated quickly.

“The police officer then began to scream at Scheffler to get out of the car. When Scheffler exited the vehicle, the officer shoved Scheffler against the car and immediately placed him in handcuffs,” Darlington wrote on X. “He is now being detained in the back of a police car.”

Continuing with the South Park Police theme so graciously opened up by NV above…

The police department screwed up. Rather than realize it early on, the cop escalated the situation.

Then it got publicized.

Now they have to triple down on it so they don't look like idiots before the police drop all charges.

This is More Sports or OT territory

Ascribing that every stupid action by a cop is political, says more about you than about a police state

I can solve this problem.

The only reason tea sip Scheff wasn't shot, released on his own recognizance, and made his tee time is because he is a white male.

Discuss.

my guess is these cops were working an extra job. paid by the PGA to provide security and traffic control for the tournament. this has got to be a big black eye for the valhala golf course and the louisville pd and the whole city of louisville. to charge him with a felony is a complete joke. something wrong with that city.

If history is repeated, and it almost always is, Louisville PD will circle the wagons and paint Scheffler as some egomaniac that thinks he's above the law.

They are worse than a Chinese businessesman when it comes to saving face.

Then I wouldn't know anything about it. I'm fine with it here.
