YouTuber shocked at what he finds in Jackson, MS

YouTube - the worst place in America
He sees crumbling infrastructure, neglect, burnt out homes, broken water lines, and decaying public services.
There is even a tree growing in a pothole. Looks like it’s been there a while.
He says it’s the only place he’s seen that’s worse off than Shreveport or Pine Bluff. Jackson is essentially the south’s version of Flint, MI on many different levels.
On the bright side, he did have positive things to say about other parts of Mississippi.

I blame white people……especially Donald Trump.

Name me a quality majority-black quality city that is actually improving. Is there one?

Jackson is 80% black, completely controlled by Democrats and has been forever and has it's 7th consecutive Black Mayor in office now.
It's puzzling that it hasn't turned into Wakanda.

Detroit is probably better than it was 20 years ago. I guess it’s all relative because I’d have to guess it’s a far cry from where it was before it became majority black, but it seems to have made at least some improvement of late.

The black man in the video basically said they need white people back in control haha

I’ll check into that. Being objective, if you are analyzing quality of life, one of the first factors would have to be % of blacks living in the city. Above 10%- 15% or so and I’m guessing the social pathologies become obvious quick. Not that there aren’t shitty all- white areas too, they just tend to be rural.

You have stumbled upon the answer.
1) Completely destroy the country.
2) DEI black people into all positions of power.
3) Erect statues to them after they make the country something marginally better than completely destroyed.

You gotta be careful when you post something like this, but here goes.
There was an unanticipated downside to desegregation.
Don't misunderstand me. Desegregation needed to happen and it created opportunities for black Americans previously denied to them for all of the wrong reasons.
But during segregation, there was essentially a second economy...a black economy in the south. Those businesses, jobs, infrastructure, etc. were no longer essential and the black economy collapsed. And nowhere is that more evident than places like Jackson.

I saw that video yesterday and I gotta admit that although I knew Jackson was a shite hole I was shocked at just how crappy it is.
I also saw a video of how horrible South Africa is today. My favorite tip: 'Do not stop at red lights or stop signs because that's when gangs will attack your car.'
I wonder if Jackson is gonna start having that problem soon.

Weird how every city run by African Americans eventually turns into Africa
Jackson will look like Kinshasa after another decade

You can't compare Detroit and Jackson. Detroit has multi national corporations and other significant failsafes to keep it from becoming something like Jackson.

Nowhere did I do so or attempt to do so. I was just postulating an answer to Pimp’s very specific query.

Yeah from a few very wealthy white men putting money into it. For example, Dan Gilbert

I lived in Jackson for 6 years and didn't recognize most of the hoods and spots where he was.
He really needs to work on his silly voice-overs.

In our lifetime we will see an American major metropolitan city that will be under curfew by the national guard with no one in or out until order is restored.
Can’t wait.
