Paris Tour Recommendations

Posted by Rasstuss on 5/6/24 at 10:09 pm
Normally I’m the type to do things on my own and not do prearranged tours. However the wife and I will have just 2 days in Paris this summer which happen to be a Saturday and Sunday just 2 weeks before the Olympics start. Thinking crowds will be at a maximum and in order to make the most of our time...
Was just on the Valor last week so will try to give a few tips. I thought the food in the main dining was kinda hit and miss. Don’t be afraid to order 2 entrees because one might not be that great. Same with the sea day brunch but it is worth going to because not a lot going on on sea days. Guy’...

For the downtown Fremont St. area we really enjoyed our meal at Oscar’s. Rib cap was one of the best steaks I have ever had, they have recently opened a patio area as well....
Thought I would chime in with my first Breeze experience over the weekend. Wife and I flew home from Jacksonville to New Orleans Sunday. Plane had a mechanical issue and we had to wait while the other plane flew a route from Jacksonville to Norfolk, VA and back before it could take us to New Orleans...

I disagree on Last Kiss. My nominee for worst is Everlast doing Folsom Prison Blues. https://youtu.be/4EGBmdK8mc0?si=wWpXxGIU_PGeP9TM ...
My parents (retired) have done multiple and love them. I know they have done NYC to Southampton, Port Canaveral to Barcelona, and Miami to L.A through the canal. They say you can’t beat the deals on a repositioning and they normally do U.S. to Europe and add on an extra leg or 2 to get more European...

Silver Airways MSY-JAX

Posted by Rasstuss on 8/25/23 at 8:56 am
Anybody out there familiar with Silver or has flown this route? Just trying to make sure I’m not getting into anything horrible. The wife and are heading to St Augustine for a long weekend and the flight fits our schedule perfectly. The free carry on is a plus because that is all we will need. ...
Do a tour of Wrigley. One added bonus of doing it while the Cubs are out of town is you get to go in the visitors locker room....

re: What is your favorite sandwich?

Posted by Rasstuss on 8/12/23 at 11:42 pm
I love a good Reuben, Cheesesteak, Muffelatta and tons of other stuff mentioned in this thread. That being said, I know this may sound sacrilegious but my all time favorite sandwich is actually meatless. It is the I Dream of Aubergine from the Milk Bar. ...
I’ve never been to Budd’s only High Point and Red Bud so I can’t speak to anything there specifically. I would say get there early and splurge on a pit pass. Watch the LCQs, maybe not as crazy as Supercross but still great battles to see who gets those last 4 spots. Decide if you want to set up in o...

I will 2nd U.S. Park. I have used it multiple times with no issues. We used it as recently as Mardi Gras since we were traveling with my sister in law we specifically took her car and still got the 1st time discount....

Look into getting a Go City pass, best kept secret in travel in my opinion. A 4-5 day pass is around $300 a person. You get to pick one “premium” attraction (Blue Man Group, KA, helicopter tour are a few on the list) then there is about 30 other attractions you can use it for, just pick and choose w...
Across the sea Honorable Mention either Jamie or Suzanne...

Look into getting a Go City pass. Especially with 5 days you can take full advantage of it. Hoover dam tour is included along a few other things mentioned in this thread....
Agree that the Grand has a great location but stayed there with the wife and once inside it just seemed like any random Hampton Inn. It did have a nice river view, but just wasn’t what we were expecting....

re: American Airlines - Help me out

Posted by Rasstuss on 8/12/22 at 3:28 pm
They do have a selection of movies/shows you can watch but make sure to download some stuff as a backup. I flew from Anchorage to New Orleans through DFW 2 weeks ago and on both flights the Wi-Fi was down. Thankfully I had podcasts downloaded to get me through the 5 hour flight from Anchorage after ...

Thanks everyone for the input. Sounds like Pizza Rock is a must try, will probably stop for a slice there after the Mob Museum. We are staying at the El Cortez so will give the Matzah ball soup a try as well. ...
