The wait is over.
LSU quarterback Joe Burrow has won the most prestigious award in college sports; the 2019 Heisman Trophy.
He is the second LSU Tiger to win the award, joining Billy Cannon who won Heisman back in 1959.
Burrow took home the honor over Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts, and Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields and defensive end Chase Young.
Burrow, a senior from Athens, Ohio, has led the Tigers to a perfect 13-0 record with a victory in the SEC Championship and the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoffs. He has 4,715 passing yards with 48 touchdowns and six interceptions on the season.
