I stopped by a guy's house to see if I could hunt and he had an awesome setup. His wife died so it wash just him. He built him a 60x100 with a 1200 sq ft living area attached. Ceiling must have been 20ft with steel I-beams. Car lifts the whole 9 yards. I built a 40x40 and wished I'd went 40x60 at least

Just bought a house that has a free standing garage that's 25' wide and 22' deep....

....and I'm already planning a workshop that I will have to add a garage bay to. Because the current garage just won't cut it.

Decided not to add a garage to the house we're building and use that money for a 30x70 shop instead.

I wish I had done a 4 car vs 3 car garage. Glad I did 10x9 garage doors though.

I’ve got 40 x 22 and it’s good width but should have gone 26 on the depth. Can’t park my Excursion in there with the trailer hitch in.

Also glad I went w 10ft doors.

To comfortably fit 2 full size vehicles and a buncha bullshite, 40x40 is about the minimum.

Random bullshite takes up so much room. A detached big arse garage/shop is the way to go if you've got acreage and coins to spare.

My plan is to park my wife’s full size car and my SxS in the garage (along with a spare fridge and a few other do dads. Then build a detached garage eventually for me to park my truck and mower and other random shot in. So I really just need room for one full size vehicle.

Think you have already heard the bigger the better thoughts. On the last two, I added a double door on the back opening to the yard/patio. Maybe the best decision in each house.

If this fits easily, you may want to tighten the opening.

Just built, ours is 21x22. Plenty of room for wife’s Yukon xl, big bench and plenty of storage, two fridge/freezers. Could do a sxs but I’d get tight. Did a 8’ tall door and it’s a game changer. I’m ok with parking outside so it works for us.
