My G-shock has finally died on me after 7 years of daily wear. I swim with it several times a week and I'm pretty sure water got inside and fried it completely.

Any luminox fans out there? Pros? Cons?

Any other waterproof watches you baws are sporting?

You looking for a rubber band? I remember looking at field watches and some of the reviews on Luminox weren’t that great. Ended up with a Bertucci Titanium.

I had one a while back and liked it for what it was. The battery didn't last too long. I maybe replaced it one or two times? I ended up tossing it because it went defunct after 3-4 yrs.

A Luminox would be more than fine, but if you're diving with it multiple times a week and don't want to break the bank (and don't want to deal with an automatic watch) I would suggest the Casio marlin: LINK

Try to find a Marathon TSAR (quartz) in 41mm. They’re classic, can go on bracelet or rubber or NATO…something I think you’ll have for a very long time.

Not sure what would be a good option, just came to say I would steer clear of luminox.

Used to sell them when I worked at an outdoors store in highschool and they were constantly coming back through the door for warranty.

They look great, just given my experience with them I still. Ant recommend them.

My experience is the quality is not good. I got this one for a beater watch and within two years somehow water had intruded and I had to replace all of the guts, and the face has multiple gashes. Sucks because it's light, looks great and the night visibility is top notch.

Do the Navy Seals still wear them? That was the big selling point 20 years ago. I'd like a classic model but not if they're falling apart.

Mom gave me a luminox when I graduated college. Wore if for about 5 yrs and it was a piece of junk, battery was changed 2-3 times and it would constantly lose an hour or two of time then hold it for 2-3 weeks. Got tired of dicking with it and got a gshock.
g shock has been bullet proof.

I’ll offer this, I’ve been wearing a maverick for going on 15 years. I also have a dive master 500 in the gunmetal titanium that I took to iraq and other wonderful spots. They aren’t fancy and you won’t win and dick measuring contests with the Rolex/Tudor boys, but they hold up really well and look great in just about any situation.

Dive master 500

I wear a garmin Instinct for working out.

I'd find it hard to believe the wear the mass produced version.

I had one and liked it for what it was, however it broke off while I was surfing (small waves) in Florida. I didn't fall or hit anything, I looked down and it was just gone.

When I reached out to their customer service, the best they could offer was 50% off retail on any new watch.

Momentum

I have a momentum and a garmin, both are excellent waterproof watches depending on what activities you are performing.

I'd probably go with a nylon band in luminox. Based on what I'm reading here and other places I'm probably going to go with something else.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I've got 2 luminox watches. They are incredibly tough and very light. The only downside is the price.

I owned this Luminox (3051 BO) watch for several years. Tacti-cool look and it glowed in the dark. It honestly felt cheap and like plastic. I had to replace the battery before 1 year. I sold it and replaced it with a Suunto Traverse Alpha which I'm happy with. Fully waterproof and battery lasts approx. 2 weeks before it needs re-charging. Suunto has more options that I can use for hunting / outdoor purposes... sapphire glass, sunrise/sunset, weather alert, moon phases, barometer, temperature, GPS breadcrumbs tracking, walking steps, compass, etc ... Watch dials, faces, and movement are personal decisions so just buy what appeases to you.

I had a Luminox b.o. 3001 and it started getting condensation underneath the crystal, then stopped holding a charge, then the emblem fell off inside and I had to disassemble it to get it out of the hands. I bought it second hand on ebay. I have another Luminox Atacama bought second hand and its been great. I've had it for 7 years and swim with it. Love the atacama and the tritium. Not sure ill buy another though.

Every one I know that had a Luminox the emblem on the face fell off and got tangled with the hands. Have to take to a jeweler to fix. Probably 6-7 different watches.

I’ve had this one for around 15 years. Think I’ve replaced the battery once, other than that no issues for me.

Look up Deep Blue watches. They make cool automatic dive watches that are luminox price range. Cooler, less gaudy watch IMO.

If you want to spend a little more, marathon SAR are very cool.
