I got a very similar one a few weeks ago. It's been making the rounds lately. Not sure why you would waste your time responding to him/it/etc. It will almost definitely not be seen.

Besides, the videos he shared to my contacts actually gained interest from a few people, so it wasn't all bad.

What freaked me out the first time I got one of those is they spat back my work Outlook password. I guess those have been circulating on the dark web from hacks. So while I wasn't worried about video of me whacking it, I was worried they otherwise had some control of my email or computer in general.

Website databases frequently get hacked.

That's why it's important to always use a different password for each site/account.

Use 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) whenever possible as well.

For 620, that’s 2% of 1 bitcoin at the current market price.

Just sent him an email asking if he he stayed at camp Lejeune and he was entitled to $789k.

He needs to send me a stamped envelope with a money order for $533.59 to proceed with his case.

Tell him that if he releases the material it will serve as proof that you are heterosexual and your posting cred on TD will rise considerably

Wouldn't even worry about it. In seriousness, if he had all that access, he could clean out your accounts and disappear into the night. He's full of shite.

Too bad there's no way to send an M67 back to him through email.

This email reply has worked well for me during past extortion attempts:

quote:

I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you're looking for a ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my data go now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you. I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you. I will find you. And I will kill you.

I had the same email that came across my work email. I sent it to our hot female VP of HR and typed….I don’t have a problem with it, but do you think this a phishing attack? She never responded and I’m still employed so…..it’s probably legit.
