The defense heavy hitters(if it becomes a contested deal) will be from the Houston area. Not sure if it matters to your point though.

Out of state lawyers from Houston/Dallas or other places come in and rep clients in south LA all the time. Many are barred here. Or get a notable out of state firm and have them use whoever their local counsel is here.
The real heavy hitter lawyers don't advertise on tv or billboards, just fyi.
