Not good enough. Les Miles won clown games (e.g., 2010 Tenn) and was rightly criticized for it
And people are bitching about other aspects of the game, like the defense's inability to get off the field

If his intentions were to kick field goal then on third down you take a knee or run to where you prefer to kick from.
Let clock run to 3 seconds then time out.
Don’t give Arkansas a chance.

I can’t think of a single good reason why the winning FG was not the last play of the game

Yeah that is thanks to Ark trying to stop Diggs on 1st and 2nd down. If Ark lets Diggs score, they would have had about 1:45 with a chance to win the game with a TD and 2pt. If LSU would’ve just kneeled three times, the only chance to win would be a blocked 23yd FG and return it for a TD. Their only chance to tie would be a missed or blocked 23yd FG.
Would scenario would you rather have?
