I remember playing at Showbiz Pizza in New Orleans in the early 80s.
PacMan
Asteroids
Duck Hunt
Pinball
Got a little older hanging out at the mall arcade in the Metro Center Mall in Jackson, MS played Centipede a lot and all those above.

The daycare I grew up in had a Centipede machine that I spent a lot of time on. It also had Q*bert too. I wasn't overly good at that one, but one of my buddies there was REALLY good at it. We used to gather around him playing that machine and would cheer for him to go as far as he could and clear as many levels as possible. Good times.
They also had a huge, awesome air hockey table, and I was badass at that. Foosball also.

I had the world record on Missle Command for a hot minute, then some guy posted a score that was impossible (I think he jiggered the machine). That game or asteroids I could play, then it would play itself for hours on the extra cites/lives after I left.

I was most proficient at Phoenix and the soccer game. I made it to the World Cup final and won while the game distributor's guys were waiting with hand trucks to take the game out, at Loyola!! I held them up.

Defender GOAT arcade game

I was the King of Tron. I could play it forever. After so many rounds, it started repeating itself. We memorized all the patterns for the motorcycles.
I wish I owned a Tron. I have a Haunted House pinball and a Frogger.

For me, it was Asteroids, Galaga, Space Ace, Mach 3, and Dragon's Lair. Joust was fun on occasion, but I got tired of Pac-Man pretty quickly.

Phoenix, Galaga, Spy Hunter, Ms Pac Man were some of my favorites.
Wayback's Arcade here in Pineville is awesome. Took my nephews and niece there a month ago. They seem to be staying busy and doing well.

Mine had a Tempest machine at one point because the head of aftercare had one at her house collecting dust, which I had noted when visiting her son one day.
All was cool until one dumbass broke the spinner by slamming it when he lost.

Haven't read the whole thread, so I am sure this will be mostly duplicates.
I remember hitting up the arcade at the mall when my parents were shipping, but the arcade didn't become a handout until high school in the early 90s when a few of us would go to play Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and NBA Jam.
As a kid, birthday parties at Chucky Cheese/Show Biz were the thing - eat some pizza and play a ton of games. I wasted a ton of tokens on Dragon's Lair, Joust, Dig-Dug, Pole Position, Star Wars, Return of the Jedi, M.A.C.H. 3, and Spy Hunter.

Man these pictures keep jogging more memories.
I remembering being in late elementary/early middle school and my mom was in a bowling league. So once a week I'd go to Don Carter's in BR and once I finished my homework I'd go hit the arcade. Played a TON of TMNT and Super Off-Road. Also dabbled in Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat, although I was never as good at the arcade versions of those as I was on the SNES versions.
