Since it started when you had to win 6? i cant imagine there has been an easier one. (not offending the great Husky club just pointing it out)

Ark took out Kansas and Self had health issues and they were pretty good last year
St Mary's always has a good team and that was not an easy team to play second round
Miami was very good last year
Gonzaga was also really good last year

They buzz-sawed really good teams. That Ark team had 4 players on it that are active in the NBA right now and knocked off the #1 overall sees... And they made them look like a HS team.

That uconn team is one of the more impressive teams of the last decade.

You could argue KU had an easier run in 2022.
quote:

Round #2 #5 Saint Mary's 70–55
Sweet 16 #8 Arkansas 88–65
Elite 8 #3 Gonzaga 82–54
Final Four #5 Miami 72–59
Championship #5 San Diego State 76–59

None of these matchups were particularly easy teams.
Arkansas had just beaten #3 KU.
Miami beat #2 Houston.
SD State beat #1 Bama

1990 UNLV had the easiest title run statistically-

No. 16 Arkansas-Little Rock
No. 8 Ohio State
No. 12 Ball State
No. 11 Loyola Marymount
No. 3 Duke

2006 Florida had an easy path:

14 seed - 11 seed - 10 seed - 1 seed - 11 seed - 2 seed

That was the year when there were a ton of upsets and George Mason made it to the Final Four, So did LSU.

I anticipate most tourney runs looking like uconn’s with the portal and NIL.

Didn’t win it all but Mich St ‘01 made the final four by beating a 16,9,12,11. I couldn’t stand those teams for some reason.

Can’t really call it “easy” just cause the smashed everyone they played. It’s like saying 2019 LSU had an easy run to championship in playoffs because we crushed Ok and Clemson. Being dominate doesn’t mean having an easy path.

Probably in the lower half of title from a difficulty perspective, but they clearly outclassed all 6 opponents. The inverse of 2019 Virginia, who went through a gauntlet, but their final 3 wins were instant classics.

Regardless of path that team was an absolute buzzsaw, clicking on all fronts. Nobody was going to beat them last year

UCONN wins because they have an excellent coach. What they do is very rare in today’s game.

They can only play who is in front of them, and I don't think there was a team in the field last year who was going to stay within single digits of them. They were a damn steamroller.

Bold move to knock San Diego State who kicked #1 Bama's arse out of the tournament.

They beat 3 5 seeds and a 3 (which I picked to win the national title BTW) and crushed them all, I honestly think 1981 Indiana's run was easier when you consider the bracket breaks they got before Philadelphia

1988 Kansas had an easy path to the Final Four.

Seeds beaten, in order:

#11 Xavier
#14 Murray State
#7 Vanderbilt
#4 Kansas state

But then they had to beat #2 region seed Duke and #1 region seed Oklahoma for the title. So...
