Not really. You just have high blood pressure.

Viruses can absolutely trigger auto immune issues and damage heart/lungs in people. Just an inflammatory response that gets some collateral damage. Honestly that’s likely what a lot of the “long” Covid shite is. I’ve had an arrhythmia since Covid but have all my normal levels of energy or whatever.

syphilis would be a good example of a long disease untreated it's divided into primary secondary and tertiary syphilis

tertiary syphilis is associated with some brain problems speaking of brain problems I can think of a few posters on this board that may have tertiary syphilis

Covid is treated/considered as if it's something unusual and not just a run-of-the-mill virus.

It IS unusual though, it's a virus we didn't have a history of encountering, treating etc. There wasn't decades of specific medical knowledge behind it the way there is with pneumonia, the common cold etc. That the symptoms and effects are similar has not just by default meant that we can treat it the same way.

What it really comes down to is that most people's opinions on covid have diddly squat to do with the virus itself and everything to do with media and politics.

Long tobacco smoking

They usually call that emphysema, COPD or lung cancer. "Long" is an unnecessary adjective.
Not necessarily. "Long term smoker" is a common description used and is typically defined as "pack years". You can be that and not yet have emphysema or lung cancer.

Tertiary syphilis doesn't have quite the ring that Long COVID has in social circles. "Long COVID" is a real conversation starter.

I never have gotten the vax or any boosters. I have had Covid 4 times now. 2 times I have ended up in a coma only to wake up in an ICU ward. One was for a week but the first one was for 3 weeks. I have had more than 3 docs tell me they have no idea how I am not dead. Previously I had never suffered a seizure. Since then I have had 6 pretty good ones since mid 2021...related? shite, I don't know and the docs can't/won't say either. But the damn timing sure lines up.

I don't know about other diseases and I don't care for the term "long Covid" but I can tell you that after the first one I know for a fact that I am not the same.

I am overweight for my height but that is partially because I have been an avid weightlifter for 30 years. I have high BP but other than that no co-morbidities of which I am aware....hell pecker even still works part time.

That is amazing your body did not produce antibodies the first go-around to defend against subsequent infections.

I caught the original COVID and it was nothing but sniffles and IBS for me. Then when delta came around it infected everyone in my family except me. The delta strain is similar to the alpha so it makes sense that I was able to fight off the delta. But omicron came along and it was a totally different strain. That got me pretty good and was like fighting a bad cold for two weeks.

But I just find it odd that you did not get some natural immunity from your first infections.

You got to get your mitochondria working more efficiently. Unfortunately as we get older that becomes more difficult. The biggest killers of mitochondrial function are ethanol and HFCS.

Most viruses never go away once you’re infected. Some go dormant forever and others have lingering or sporadic symptoms brought on by stress etc.
