Social Conservatism is not happening through the federal government. By design, it cannot happen, especially in the current makeup and size of this country and its global reach.

I do like the idea of having a champion of socially conservative ideas at the helm, and to be able to use the bully pulpit to spread the message. But quite frankly, that can't be Trump, and shouldn't be. That is supposed to come from the Church... who has been the biggest reason for the current moral decay. How many Pastors are delivering sermons every week about the current state of the culture? Not many

What we need from the executive branch, is to decouple this country from the global world order. Stop mass immigration, starve out the MIC and forever war industry, on-shore manufacturing, defund the UN, NATO, WHO, etc. Control our own energy, and strengthen local governments.

These actions will then hopefully setup stronger advocates for social conservatism in a more decentralized society.

Meanwhile, the Church needs to decouple itself from the state. And be more adversarial and willing to push back at the culture and the government. Not whatever this current unholy union that has been created where Churches (Including the Vatican and USCCB) have simply decided to go along to get along.

He says he called a widow last week
whose husband was killed by an illegal in Michigan
The Widow said he did not-

The guy is defective not just morally but overall.
We had a choice in the primaries. Trump did not fail
RP's did (Real Republicans)

Remember when he made fun of the guy with
Cerebral Palsey
He sure got him!

Had a Christian Artist tell me a story about a guy that played in the band. That guy asked the artist how many times over the past year have you heard a pastor preach a message of salvation.

The artist was kinda floored by the question. He said he realized that out of the 50 weeks out... 2 times is all he could remember.

The only thing that should bother anyone is his pandering to Christians, when its obvious he knows jack shite.

His moral failings dont bother me at all, its his pretending to be something hes not.

My aunt has been a fundamental Baptist preacher's wife for 50 years put it this way; she said people in her church asked how she could support Trump. She said "I'm voting for him for President, not to be the pastor of our church."

I vote for president based on economic and foreign policies. Social issues belong on the state/local level. A lot of "conservatives" simply want an authoritarian government that will force their own morals onto everyone else, just like the left.

"Social Conservative"

All that means is that you like to butt into other peoples' personal business.

So what I have to say to you, and all other "Social Conservatives", is...

...frick you.

Agree, but his fiscal positions are all I cared about before. And those failings were massive.

Shite sandwich and a douche bag.

It’s disappointing that in a country of 350 million that these are our two choices.

I personally break the decision to support Trump rather easily. I do not know the guy but I do know the MSM quite well. I know that the MSM has a deep bias and willingly manufactures reporting, intentionally omits reporting, and intentionally refused to report stories that is contrary to their bias.

If the corrupt MSM is all in on supporting any candidate, I am all in on opposing that candidate. If the MMS is all in on attacking a candidate, I am going to find as much information as I can about what the MSM is reporting and then, most likely support that candidate.

Vote against the national and MSM agenda 99.9% of the time.

Did you make this whole post just so you could bash the church?

It's not the church's responsibility or any christians responsibility force people to live moral lives. Nor is it their responsibility to change peoples opinions about the church and God.

The responsibility of the church is to 1) Not to bend an ounce to social whims and stay true to the Christ. 2) offer the Truth to all who seek it.

Many will reject it because wide is the gate to hell and narrow is the gate to salvation.

Whatever happen in Washington DC should be of no consequence to the Church. Period.

People think the church needs to grow and take over the world but that's just not the case. The church will shrink and get smaller the closer to the end we come. There's hard time ahead for the Church and christians. It has to be, that way. That's what going to bring the kingdom of God not politics.

It should bother any real Christian. I would rather not vote, than go against conservative and Christian morals.

I have minimal concern about Trump's moral failings. He's a reflection of the population. It's hard to ID many public figures you believe are good, earnest, genuine human beings. Him not being one isn't really notable.

I have more concern for Christians who regularly see fit to conflate Christianity and Trump. Something that really used to bug me about the FBC Dallas dude is that he'd go on Hannity or whatever and get 10 minutes of airtime and spend all of it defending Trump. To be clear, I didn't want him to condemn Trump, that's not the point. But there was rarely a Gospel message inserted into the middle of the dialogue, and we all know Hannity would have let that fly without issue. And it's just stuck with me as a theme that reflects the issue. If you're given 10 minutes as a pastor with millions watching and you don't intentionally bring the conversation over to Christ and instead just cut it up about Trump and Trump's oppressors for the whole segment - what are you doing?

Christians who support Trump are mostly fine by me, but if you're a Trump supporting Christian and 95% of your efforts/communications/etc. pertaining to Christianity somehow work in or relate to Trump, it's time to reassess.

Me either. We don't have the luxury of pretending a president can be our premier moral leader. the country is unraveling in real time.

at least he's pretty much wholly honest about his stances and doesn't apologize for them. most politicians say one thing and believe another. they dgaf about shooting us straight. only what's expedient. Trump IS popular because he's their antithesis.
