Which part? I live in southern Rhode Island which is basically gives college/beach town vibes

Id imagine youd get vastly different answers from folks living near Boston/Western Mass/Maine/Vermont, etc.

Expensive, cold, everyone makes fun of your accent. You get used to it. There were tons of full service gas stations when I lived in New York. That was nice when it was -15 degrees.

Lived in NH for 2 years. You definitely get all 4 seasons up there. Winters sucked but I don't think it would be that hard to get used to the temps/snow. NH folks I was around were damn good people, like Northern rednecks.

Lived in Boston for five years and now live in New Hampshire and love it! Originally from New Orleans and went to LSU. Lots of jobs you get to experience all four seasons and the public schools are pretty good. To answer any questions you might have

More expensive than the south for sure - particularly housing, and more particularly in MA, RI, and CT. ME, NH, and VT are more like the south than the other states. Need to be able to deal with the cold and lots of snow. Beaches are not white sand and the water even in the summer rarely gets much into the 70s. But good fishing (fresh and salt), hiking, and hunting if you are into that.

Generally, the people are not as openly friendly, but there are a lot of great people there once you get to know them.

I felt lied to as a southerner once I explored New England.

New England is great. With a 2-3 hour drive in any direction you have seemingly endless outdoor options to explore from lakes to rivers to oceans to (small) mountains, plus a ton of very nice small towns. Outside of a few giant cities it’s just great if you like country/outdoor living.

Lyme disease is a concern.

Never lived but visited New Hampshire several times. Beautiful countryside and it has some of the loosest gun laws in the nation. The political climate isn’t conservative but it’s definitely much more centrist compared to MA, CT, and NY.

Yes, I lived in NH as a kid.

Everyone hates everyone in Boston. They act like people just hate the blacks, but the Irish hate the Italians who hate the blacks, ect ect.
