Looked like the Asian dude flashed an FBI credential, though.
I was just more genuinely curious about there possibly being any evidence of people "staging" these things. I'm not putting it past anyone. I just wanted to know if such a thing has ever been verified.

I would hope the FBI is finding/arresting these imposters. Isn't it a serious crime to fake being an FBI agent? And it's not like it should be hard to find them - there's video of them and their vehicles.

FBI has Task Force Officers (local and state LEOs) assigned to their various task forces…locals supply TFOs because they are real police who know the streets AND here is the most important part:
FBI pays up to 25k in OT for each TFO and also shares asset seizure funds back to participating local/state agencies.
It’s a damn $ racket and TFOs who should call out FBI nonsense don’t or they’ll lose the money train.
