I live very comfortably according to that article. Not single but single income household.

I make a very good living and we save till it hurts, but some months expenses come up that are unforeseen. I had to get installed a tankless water heater, a roof repair, etc. that have run me $7,000 this month.
We don’t always control how much we make, but we’re always in control of how much we spend. Save till it hurts and be very frugal and circumspect with the residual.

I live pretty good. I know people that make as much as I do and are paycheck to paycheck. Crazy arse car payments , Spend outrageous money on fishing and hunting gear. Eat out everyday , Zero idea how to grocery shop. People do it to themselves.

We make decent money, but are also the beneficiaries of having owned a home for a long time that we paid way less for than we would today, and refinanced it at 2.3%. It's been so long since I've been single I'd have to figure out what my finances would look like. I'd be fine I'm almost positive. My wife would struggle.
I started my house build right before Covid and finished December 2020. Got a 2.6% interest rate and will walk away a large chunk of money to put down on a new house. Even with that down payment to get something like I have now I’m looking at a 5k month mortgage vs $2500 now. Part of that is stupid property tax in Texas and the rest are the interest rates.

Do you really think it takes over $80k for a single person to "live comfortably" in Louisiana.
Not at all.
Hell i could probably do alright with 25k.
Instead 25k doesn't cover the mortgage.

Go to Jamaica. Every female wants to be your girlfriend.

I’ve never lived beyond my means. Staying ahead of income has afforded me the opportunity to invest for long term and retirement. Keeping that mentality has always kept us comfortable.

I save about $1000 a month, I guess that is living comfortably.

Yeah I don't agree with the whole "single expense" they allude to in the article.
I spent much less money when I was single. Even with dual incomes you spend more with a SO/wife.

Do you even passport bro? Do you know how cheap it is to fly and vacation in Colombia? Tons of hotties waiting for you. You are holding yourself back.

I’m barefoot in my backyard grilling some ribeyes, so I guess you could say yes.

Comfortable? Yes but I’m not 30. I’m 63 who worked my arse off for over 40 years. Lived within my means. Saved like crazy. Paid off all debts and currently debt free. Live entirely on Social Security but it’s ok once you are debt free. Pay your dues. It’s not easy but doable.

I’m staying in a 1,200 sqft air bnb that’s costing me $3500 while my house in Baton Rouge has a garage bigger than that for $1000 less a month.
Been here since December 4th and I’m starting to question my life’s choices
Hell the grass here is two foot tall and I don’t even have a back patio. Bought a little Webber Grill to cook.

Yeah I’m chilling. I never think about money. I’m a simple dude and already make more than I’d ever feel ok with spending. Once you make it past that it’s all just more gravy. And half of that is just “don’t need meaningless rich people shite to be happy”

Some of these are pretty far off

Everyone's definition of "comfort" is different. For instance, I'm very simple and frugal. I drive an old paid-for truck, buy clothes at Sam's Club, and don't eat out much. There's nothing that I really need that I couldn't go pay cash for right now. For me, that's comfort.

Crank up your Google machine and find adult dance lessons in your area. Swing dance, line dance, ballroom, two-step, it all works. You're not looking to be a great dancer, just fun to dance with. It will make you significantly more attractive to women.
