Watched the video...

Institution of higher learning, and one of the female reps interviewed in the trio uses the non-word “sweeped.”

If you use the same logic that the white power salute people are using, a Tiger Woods fist pump must be a black power salute

She is protected by free speech

And secondly, this is getting too end of times in the sense of 'thought police'.

Why is the University involved?

Do these fricks realize the University is not responsible for everything that happens in the towns they are in??

I read the quotes and figured the girl making the comments must be black. I was so confused.

I have now watched the video and see she is white. I now understand why people are getting wound up.

That is a public university. Any action against her can be construed as a violation of her 1st Amendment rights.

You think that girl was stupid enough to put that on social media?
if I learned one thing in this day and age, it's that people are very mindful of what they post on social media and would never be "stupid enough" to post something like that.

Imagine going to THAT length in this thread to say someone would not do something stupid on social media.

Coastal Carolina University and College of Charleston both go hard in the paint. Their partying makes half the SEC look Busch league.

Look, I don't understand people who makes a big deal about mixed couples. First of all, its not anyone's damn business. With that said, there will people who don't agree with it, who will make comments, etc.

We can't start going after everyone because they said something we don't agree with or makes hateful comments. When it becomes a story, it gives that person a bigger stage. People need to learn to just let shite go. What do they want the administration to do about a comment made in a bar? Kick them out so they can just go to another school? And what does that accomplish? If anything, it makes her hate even more.

Like DJ Hughley said in one of his stand ups "Having free speech means sometimes people are going to say shite you don't like".

Look, what this student said is offensive, and people are justified in condemning the comments. But Coastal Carolina is a public university governed by the First Amendment, and the student has a right to express herself without sanction, no matter how offensive what she said is to many in the CCU community. CCU is correct in issuing a statement that the comments are offensive, and others in the university are free to condemn the comments vigorously, but that should be the end of the story.
