Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly resignedTuesday as lawmakers pressured President Donald Trump to take action

Modly caused a fire storm when he flew 8,000 miles to Guam to launch a tirade against fired Captain Brett Crozier to his crew on the USS Theodore Roosevelt

Modly told sailors their fired captain was 'naive' and 'stupid'

He absolutely should. What he did was absolutely disgusting. I hope this follows him the rest of his life.

This is what our cancel culture brings us. People in the military, who should not be affected by bullshite, can't rail on their reports because our communist propaganda press pushes the agenda of their handlers well. Why do you think Trump is having to fight them every day. The press needs to be waterboarded. Press has no business forcing our military to do anything. Maybe 80 years ago when they somewhat sought the truth, but not now when they report to China.

I think Trump had it right yesterday. Mistakes were made by the Captain and Secretary of Navy. But that doesn’t mean their careers should be ruined.

I listened to the entire soundcloud of his speech to the crew and aside for an off-color word here or there, it was inspiring, brilliant, and clear. I'm not a military man, so I'm not up to speed on protocols, but as acting secretary, he seemed appropriate to me.

You don't have to disagree with the Crozier letter to know what he did was wrong. That's what's getting lost in the media's zeal to make everything a referendum on Trump.

I don’t think the captain will ever command another carrier either.

He will just quietly never be heard from again along with this Modly fellow.

The next Captain of that ship, is going to have a rough time. There are serious problems on that boat.

I don't disagree with his opinion about Captain Crozier. But he should have kept that shite to himself. There was no reason to get in front of Crozier's former crew and say it.

And what qualifications did Modly even have to be in this position? He flew a helicopter. And he was a Trump donor.

Did any Republican criticize Modly? I'd like to know which lawmakers.

His bad move was going that far away at this time. Otherwise he was spot on.

So one guy fires a guy and then in turn he gets fired?

This is how the French military acted during the Revolution.

We'll cut off your head and then cut off the head of the guy who wanted your head cut off. And so on and so forth.

THe only reason "lawmakers" (yawn) - more like media wanted him fired is because he fired the guy who leaked stuff to the press...

And anytime somebody does that they're a liberal hero.

And the media wanted payback for their liberal hero.

The SECNAV made the right call. It's a shame he's resigning.

The captain betrayed his obligations to OPSEC and coming from the captain of a 14 billion dollar aircraft carrier responsible for 5,000 men and women aboard, that should never ever be taken lightly.

I’m ignorant but pose a question- is it possible that his speech is fireable because he’s a civilian blasting an officer to his former crew?

Would this have been completely acceptable if it had been an admiral above the captain giving that speech?
