Worked out a few times while on vacation but ate way more and way worse than usual. Anybody have some type of cleanse to get me back to feeling good.

Stomach is full, bloated, and nasty feeling. Got bad gas, etc…

I normally deflate and diurese within 5 days just getting back on my normal foods/routine. Lots of water.

300 mL bottle of magnesium citrate, limit salt intake.. lots of water and salads. I retain fluid like a mofo on vacation. I’m going to get me some lasix to take when I get back next time

It’s all carbs.
Drink tons of water, stay away from salt and carbs, exercise and sweat your arse off asap.

Me too. Water weight seems to latch onto me with the quickness. If only I ate cleaner.

Just get back to your routine and don’t worry about it. You’re allowed to have fun sometimes.

That sounds like a bad idea.

shite I took the last week off and I’m just now getting back into the gym. It’s crazy taking a week off makes you feel so blah. But I’m glad to be back.

Just get back on the wagon, no need to try to make up for it. That is what vacations are for.

The only thing I would potentially consider if I was in this boat would be a 24 hour fast on the first day back, but I would probably just jump back into my training/eating plan.

I was joking. Although it is not harmful to just take here and there as needed for edema.

I lost 5 lbs of swolt (not in the food way) inflammation water weight shite in a matter of a few days after a 5-day cross-country drive. I mentioned this in another post, but I looked in the mirror and looked old, bloated, flabby, and generally haggard and shitty. A couple days of low calorie intake, water and sleep and looked mostly normal. Still need to get back to fighting weight. An old man with 3 and 5 yo boys = stress eating and just eating whatever shite they’re eating. Or not eating.

Yeah. I just try to get back to counting calories, drink a ton of water, and get back to walking/lifting.

Happens every time I take a week of vacation, I'll look horrible for a couple of days but after getting back on the diet and into the gym it goes away rather quickly.

I feel gross after every meal I eat lately. It's like I'm carbing up for a marathon I'm not running.

But I do know that for me, (when and if I get it together after a binge or a period of binging like I am in now) it's a 3-6 day period of flushing out the excess sodium and of course the water follows the sodium, and after that I feel back to "normal". (But unfortunately, as of late, at the 6-7 day mark I'm due for another 1-man Pizza Party and I load up again on all the calories and excess sodium and the cycle begins again)

Recently I was listening to a Joe Defranco podcast episode (it's episode #21 and it's from 2015, so maybe shite has changed, but it sounded sensible to me) from many years ago and he was talking to Mike Dolce, and he was talking about how he got the best results with diuresis in cutting weight from a gradual, but consistent, reduction in sodium over about a week long period. I was surprised that a gradual reduction in sodium gave him better results than a rapid reduction in sodium, but he repeatedly said how the athletes he trained and advised in nutrition (for what was usually a pre-competition weight cut for MMA/boxing/wrestling bouts), felt and looked better with a gradual reduction in sodium.

So I'm going to try a more gradual approach to my issues and hopefully that'll help get me off this yo-yo cycle of swinging back and forth from extremes and ultimately getting nowhere.
