They run like 200 plays a game.

You better score a lot of points, because your defense is going to give up a lot as well.

also not saying Baylor is,

The title of the thread is literally "Baylor has a better running game than LSU"

And ok, I guess I am wrong about you being the only person on Earth who believes that. I would assume some Baylor cult members also believe it.

Theres a team in the SEC that plays Big12, Baylor style ball. It's A&M, the last couple years in the Big12 they were successful so we let em move up to the big boy table, since then downhill. They have'nt beaten us since the 90's. Yall's DB's line up 15 yards off a WR, we play physical and it translates to the NFL. The 2011 LSU-Bama game had 72 future NFL players in that game! Show me some stats on some Big12 NFL players... We play physical, conservative football in the SEC and it translates into BCS NC's. Yall's last one was 2005, Texas....

Baylor and A&M are different offenses. Yeah they are in the Air Raid tree, but Baylor stresses the run much more than A&M does

I agree, but we can't spread the field and just dump off to WRs all day long, hence opening up the running lane. SEC LBs would end WR's careers if they just grab the ball in space as often as they do and SEC DBs don't allow them that space in the first place. Look, their scheme is great for the Big12, but their running opportunities come from LB's pursuing the pass more often than not and we just can't sell that in the SEC, even with the talent we have. The closest we've been to that type of system in recent history was 2013. Our offense put up great numbers, but look at our record!

Why not score points? Isn't that the point of the game

They score more points because they run more plays and get more drives.

If your team gets more drives, guess who else gets more drives? The team you are playing.

If the team you're playing gets more drives, guess what happens? They score more points. And you can't just extrapolate what your defense is already giving up, because now your defense is more tired and will give up more points PER DRIVE.

Then you lose the game. See what you've done!!!

I see no difference between winning 24-14 vs 63-49. Baylor runs the riskier offense, and they usually drop games because of it.

Right. As I've stated. That's only one game, and Texas tech was by far the worst defense in the Big 12 last season. They were ranked 127th in the nation (2nd to last). Oklahoma was 28th West Va 52nd Baylor 56th TCU 63rd Hell, Auburn was ranked 85th in total defense. Western Kentucky 88th. South Carolina 91st Syracuse 96th Arkansas 67th Miss St. 55th.

tiggerthetooth and to all bashing him,

You are correct sir and I always asked why LSU did not run this type of offense yet can still hand it off anytime and have huge (or bigger holes) due to the alignment and play calls. He is spot on when he put the stats down of the defenses LSU gained most of its yards against- it was not SEC defenses, as SEC defenses put up a brick wall to easily stop the run run pass punt cloud of dust Miles and Co. tried against Bama, Arky and Ole Miss. We only scored 19 on Tex A&M- a real defensive powerhouse

The teams he listed above have some SEC teams in there but they had shitty defenses like AU, Miss State, South Car, even Arky 67th- and they shut us down!! The Ones from the Big 12 Ok, W Va, Baylor, TCU had much better average defense then the SEC list- YET BAYLOR had a much more powerful offense than LSU- His point made!!!! Deal with it because he is right. Who in their right mind would not want that type of explosive offense along with the Def we have? Thought that is what most people wanted but when someone makes that case, they use Baylor and the Big 12 as pansies on defense. bullshite, and we are lucky most of the SEC defenses are not like Bama and Ole Miss, then we would have been a cellar dweller since 2011.

Good job tiggerthetooth
