A lie? Baylor did average more rushing yards, passing yards, and points 4/5 years...and it wasn't even remotely close.

Maybe the SEC rushing defenses are better because everyone in the conference sucks at passing?

As said before, Texas QB's come out more refined and polished to transition into a aggressive passing attacks.

Well now I know youre trolling because you are picking and choosing random stats to justify Baylor having a better running game.

Rushing Yards per Attempt

Defensive Rushing Yards per Attempt

These two stats mater infinitely more than all others for the thread title.

I ask you again, what's the difference between a 10 minute touchdown and a single minute touchdown? :l

I would rather whatever gets us TDs, period. I don't care if it happens in one play.. I'll take that every time.

It's just nice to have balance, period.. especially against better defenses.

You're quite possibly the only person on planet Earth that thinks Baylor has a better running game than LSU.

Team rushing yards per game overall is "random" ? Since when?

Rushing Yards per Attempt

So Baylor had better RYPA 3/5 years.

Defensive Rushing Yards per Attempt

They aren't mutually exclusive. If you can't see that, then I dont know what to tell you.

The SEC clearly plays a more conservative style of football, which creates a higher percentage of running plays, but also allows for less plays overall, and thus less opportunities to gain yards. When you have an entire conference exclusively playing each other, its hard to compare.

Because it isnt normalized It doesnt account for games played or attempts. It would be stupid to say team A who rushes for 3000 yards on 1000 attempts has a better rushing game than team B who rushes for 2500 years on 500 attempts.

What? You have no idea what you are talking about. The data is normalized so what you just said makes no sense.

You're very wrong, but thats okay.

Im also not saying Baylor is, Im saying its interesting how a team with a great passing offense like Baylor measures up very well in rushing production to LSU who prides themselves on running the ball so much.

They spread the field and throw the ball a ton and their qb's run. Can't focus on one person, and the teams they play SUCK

Why not score points? Isn't that the point of the game?

Having a better YPC or averaging more yards per game on the ground doesn't mean that Baylor has a better rushing attack. If you look at the SEC, the running game that a lot of the teams run are heavy in power. Meaning that by nature power running will chew up more clock. I bet if you looked at time of possession LSU would dominate. Also I bet if you took away any passing in a game between Baylor and LSU and each team could only run the ball. Well you could figure the rest out.
