Westlake has beaten St. Louis and Iowa in back to back games. Up to #5 in power ratings for NS3

playing really well right now. they are still really young with the soph class being the main contributor to their success.

Rummel beat Jesuit 6-0 last night to move to 5-1 in the Catholic League and stay #2 in D1 Select.

2-0 vs Curtis
2-0 vs St Aug
1-1 vs Jesuit

Giancarlo Arencibia... Kid is dealing this year so far. "Arencibia pitched a two-hitter, walked two and struck out 10 for his fifth win of the season to run his scoreless streak to 19 innings"

19 scoreless innings streak currently and before the 6th inning last night he had a 17 inning hitless streak.

I've seen great high school pitchers, but statiscally he having a fantastic run as of recently. 3 No-Hitters (1 Perfect Game) in his last 9 starts over the past 2 years. Not to mention 1 of those 9 starts was shutting down #1 Catholic last year in the State Semifinals.

2022: (5-3) 55.0 IP, 43 H, 23 R, 15 ER, 88 K, 14 BB, 1.80 ERA

2023: (7-1) 59.2 IP, 36 H, 21 R, 17 ER, 83 K, 28 BB, 1.70 ERA

2024: (4-1) 28.0 IP, 10 H, 6 R, 3 ER, 49 K, 8 BB, 0.75 ERA (This was before last night)

Westlake has only 1 senior contributing SS/2B Benoit,

Lf=Freshman

c, 3rd, 1st and RF=Soph

SS, CF= Juniors

All the pitchers come from this group as well. Next year they should make some noise, hoping to have deep run this year after running into Kinder in quarters last year.

*I see South Beau has a tough game on schedule right before Westlake game. Interested to see how they line up pitching for that stretch. They are very good having won against Barbe already this year.

yea soph and junior classes are very good. some of the better soph quit to focus on football unfortunately but still have enough good ones.

most of them were on that prodigy team growing up and the juniors were on that southpaw team that was really good.

Pulled out another win tonight in extras 3-2 over Jennings. Up to #3 in Power Ratings. Soph. Hardesty gave up 2 runs on 3 hits in 1st inning then threw 7 shut out innings in a row to get the win. Get past Kinder next week and set up show down with South Beau for district champ and possible #1 seed in playoffs.

Covenant Christian beats us 3-0 and gives Bryce Wilson a hard luck loss for his first one as all the runs were unearned…

Joe Teuton runs a solid program. No shame on taking an L from CCA
