Apparently, this is a “Scottie-style” slider from the Champions Dinner.

Cantlay is incredibly boring but he does show a little bit of emotion when he's grinding. I think maybe it was the Ryder Cup or one of the big tournaments he won, that dude grinded and made putt after putt. His only emotion was intensity and it made me more of a fan than I was before.

Scheffler looks like he doesn't enjoy playing golf. Schauffele is a lot the same way, but a little less so.

The PGA has a personality problem. LIV took most of those guys away. PGA has Tiger who is the goat, but who else do they have behind that? Jordan Spieth's personality is that he talks to himself on the course. Ok, that's something. Jon Rahm used to get mad at himself but he's pretty much shut that down. Hideki is a Japanese powerhouse, but he doesn't talk, like at all. I'm a fan, but I have no idea what his personality is. You have Tom Kim, a plucky young Korean American kid. He seems promising, I guess. Rickie Fowler is a boring spokesperson and the most interesting thing he ever did was have long hair on tour. Nice guy, I like him too. But he's just chillin and giving interviews like a Nascar driver. Justin Thomas is a hothead/everyone's buddy? He got half canceled for calling himself a fig. I guess that's kinda cool. Then there's Rory. He's become the whiny corporate mouthpiece. Even he's tired of hearing himself talk about it.

None of that stuff attracts any attention outside the already established golfing world (except Tiger). Are any of those guys drawing young players to the game and to the events/TV? How do some of these guys become the next superstars?

Scheffler is definitely the most boring. The guy, his family, and his wife all seem like the nicest people ever but even Netflix couldn’t make the guy entertaining.

Cantlay just looks like a run of the mill VP at a middle market private equity firm.

Middle aged white men have to be the most conflicted people in the world. They scream all year round wanting their athletes to be squeaky clean people that just shut up and play sports

Then when they finally get it they complain it’s boring.

If you say Scottie is boring, you simply mean I love drama in my sports off the field and opinionated loud athletes. Because their is nothing boring about Scottie’s game. He has a very unique swing and dude makes some unreal shots

We hear all year on this board is “just shut up and dribble” “we don’t need drama we want just a great athlete”, but then when people actually get that they complain

The truth is, people want “a loud cocky athlete that’s loud and opinionated, but with the same opinions as me”

There is nothing at all boring about the golf of Scottie scheffler from his swing to his game. If you say he is boring, you are more interested in the soap opera off court stuff like the nba .

He has very little, if any, emotion on the course. The guy will drain one from out of the bunker and barely crack a smile. He says nothing memorable in the media, ever. He wears a plain white or plain blue shirt 90% of his rounds. He could not be more boring if he tried.

Tony Finau doesn't create any drama off the course but he still manages to have a personality on the course and come across as very likeable. He smiles, pumps his fist a little, hits bombs and makes fans.

Scheffler and the boring bunch walk around like deaf mutes.

I was referring to their actual golf. Scottie is boring af to watch. And he’s great. He should be fun to watch but he just isn’t, for whatever reason.

I heard that when Scottie and his wife want to spice things up in the bedroom, one of them will remove their shirt.

Seriously man, what's your point? What difference does it make what he says at age 87? Optics stinks when you are having to hear it from the guy you help make the face of pro golf. For the love of Golf. And they keep picking this person to start the Master and he has to say he feels unwelcomed. That is a bad look. The only thing left to be curious about at this point is how many tone-deaf folks actually work at that place

The only person who comes out looking bad in this is Player. He went from being very well liked to coming across as entitled and petty.

He’s definitely not on the Mount Rushmore of golf. Not sure where you got that idea.

I just have no clue how you can say that His swing is wild AF and dude can make a short game save from anywhere

What’s boring about the way he hits a golf ball?
