According to longtime college football radio host Greg Swaim's B1G source in Chicago, the Big Ten will have a school from the state of Texas by the 2026 season -- and his hunch is that Texas A&M will be the university making that jump.

"Received an e-mail 10 minutes ago from our Chicago B1G source, that said 'The B1G will definitely have a Texas school by 2026,'" Swaim prefaced before saying, "As we reported months ago, TAMU and the B10 have been having serious third party talks for over six months."

The B1G wouldn't take them.

Maybe the sips but not the Aggies.

I married into an Aggie family. This would make me extremely happy. Seems like bullshite, though.

I mean I wish this was true because the B1G is 100% an upgrade over the SEC but it unfortunately isn't

Let them go. They could sell the move to the SEC as not running away from UT because the SEC was a tougher conference and could realistically be sold as a step up in competition.

This would at best be a lateral step up against teams nowhere near their population bases for marginally more (maybe?) money.

This step would be nothing more than aTm running away from UT. Could the fanbase accept this?

It actually makes a lot of sense. They don't want to be in the same conference as Texas. The Big10 is the only other choice. Boom.

I could see the Big 10 adding Florida State and Texas A&M.

They want to get away from Texas and the B1G wants an even bigger national footprint.

I didn't think the SEC would ever take A&M, either.

Thanks, but no thanks. Our MO is rapists and pedos, not flaming homosexuals.

You can't leave for a Conference that wouldn't take you in a million years.

I think it just depends on who is negotiating the next contract. The SEC wins in the front end of their deals until the B1G does their next contract and vice versa

This helps the B!G more than it helps A&M IMO. Gives B1G coaches a hold into the state

Would be just like them to run away from
Texas again. They will always be a little brother program, I’m just glad they can get back to being Texas little brother and stop putting their complex on lsu

I thought the point of switching conferences was to move up?

Probably TCU. Might try to get Baylor, Texas Tech and Oklahoma St eventually.
