That reviews makes me want to see the movie. Then, go to that guy’s house and punch him in the face.

The internet can “ruin” a movie in the sense that if enough SJW idiots are loud enough, it will affect WB’s vision and willingness to create sequels that push the boundary even more. They’ll tone it down and kneel to the loudest voices

One thing that has hurt American society when it comes to films like this has been the sheltering an hiding of reality from people. Same thing with war for many. It is game because they never see the real carnage that is war, while in other parts of the world people are exposed to it.

Saving Private Ryan started to change it a bit, but we’ve now seen it twisted into people going overboard and trying to link every negative event in Earth to film or video games.

I hope this movie is open and blunt about the character and doesn’t shield anything. It’s a freaking movie. If someone does something crazy because it, the person is crazy and not because of the film itself.

In a pretty shocking move, the Venice Film Festival’s top award—the Golden Lion—went to director Todd Phillips’ already polarizing DC Comics adaptation Joker. The film is loosely based on the DC villain of the same name, with the Hangover and War Dogs director crafting an original origin story about an aspiring (yet failed) stand-up comedian named Arthur Fleck. Joaquin Phoenix has drawn raves for his performance, but the first reviews out of Venice were divisive to say the least, with some going so far as to say the film itself is literally dangerous.

This immediately made me think of Tropic Thunder and the Crying Monkey award.

This is the first comic book movie to win Best Picture at a major film festival.

Careful. When someone says they have a guess, it usually means they’ve read spoilers elsewhere.

Just a couple of guesses here, but nothing concrete:

phoenix’s Joker is probably a guy with a generic name like Arthur and he tries his hand at a hard task like stand up comedy and fails and takes it very hard in an already hard life and then some people die. He may even paint his face at some point.

Again these are all guesses.

A bunch of people giving me shite for suggesting that Joker potentially might be a dangerous movie for the wrong person to watch.

If you're influenced by a comic book movie... you have much bigger and overarching mental illness problems.
