I think you got it. Nothing touches Trading Places or the 1st Beverly Hills Cop. The Golden Child is a great clean one for the kids.

Golden Child was kind of the beginning of the end of his unreal run.

He got so powerful that he started doing passion projects with all black casts, etc.

No problem if that's what he wanted to do, but he lost his magic during this time. He was basically not a real person after Cop II.

You left out his entries from 1987 - RAW and Beverly Hills Cop II.

I've said before but Eddie Murphy in the 80s may have been the greatest decade an entertainer has ever had:

- carried SNL on his back after the original cast left
- had three major stand-up specials (including RAW, a hit movie)
- had several blockbuster movies
- has a singing career that sold more albums than anyone wants to admit

Just about everything that dude touched turned to gold. Then Pluto Nash happened.

If Coming to America is on I'll watch it to the end. Everything just works in that movie.

He still had some great roles in the late 90s and early 2000s, Nutty professor, Dr. Doolittle, Shrek, Life. But he also had a bunch of forgettable shite during that time too.

Everything from 82-93 is pretty much a classic.

I really thought it would be a consensus top pick. I think it’s his best overall film and best work as an actor not to mention writer also.

Another 48 hours is such a rewatchable movie for some reason. Cherry is an underrated bad guy.

I'd put Harlem Nights above Golden Child, other than that.. you pretty much got it right (not sure why Beverly Hills Cop 2 was excluded from the list though)

Trading Places is GOAT Eddie Murphy, maybe GOAT Dan Akroyd and GOAT Jamie Lee Curtis titties

48 hours does. It touches their penises, in fact, better than BHC and about even with Trading Places.

I'd only flip your two with Coming To America techincally first.

Trading Places stalls a little during the train scenes.
